Beirut on Edge: Why Thousands Are Fleeing Their Homes

Beirut on Edge: Why Thousands Are Fleeing Their Homes

Kimberly Schlapman's Heartfelt Journey: A Daughter's Dedication Amidst Her Mom's Parkinson's Battle

Kimberly Schlapman's Heartfelt Journey: A Daughter's Dedication Amidst Her Mom's Parkinson's Battle

Little Big Town’s Kimberly Schlapman has opened up about caring for her mom, who was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease. “It’s 24-hour care,” Schlapman, 56, told USA Today in an interview published on Saturday, May 30, of the experience she’s undertaken since her 78-year-old mother Barbara’s diagnosis was presented about 20 years ago. “When she was diagnosed, we didn’t understand what her care would mean,” she continued. “We didn’t know enough about the disease to know where we were headed.” Schlapman, who works with her family as well as hired help to care for Barbara, recalled the day in 2005 when Barbara’s hand tremor led to a doctor informing her that she may have Parkinson’s disease, a movement disorder of the nervous system that worsens over time according to the Mayo Clinic. “I was like, what? What? Because no one in our family, to our knowledge, has had Parkinson’s before,” Schlapman detailed, before adding that once the suspicion evolved into a diagnosis, the family did not understand what care for Barbara would look like. Feeling the need to “be in multiple places at once,” Schlapman, who shares two daughters, Daisy, 18, and Dolly, 9, with husband Stephen, told the outlet that she relishes the responsibility to provide care for her loved ones. “I love being a mama. I also know what my mama has meant to me in my life. Now I get an opportunity to care for her. That’s incredibly important to me,”  Schlapman said. “I also have a job where people rely on me.” Check our latest news in Google News Check our latest news in Apple News Schlapman, who is also an avid cook, spoke wider about the need for more people to openly discuss the realities of living with Parkinson’s disease. “There is no shame in this disease,” Schlapman said. “And there are so many of us out there living with it that we need each other and we need to talk about it. And the more we talk about it, the better off our loved ones are going to be because their care is going to be better and people are going to understand it more.” Schlapman also noted that she recently moved closer to her mom to ensure she’s an active member of Barbara’s support team. “I just wouldn’t have it any other way,” she told the outlet. “We’re very, very involved in her care and with her doctors, and there’s one of us at every appointment she has.” Exclusives you can't get anywhere else We know you want Us, because you've made it this far. Noah Brown's Heartfelt Last Words to Brother Matt Before Tragic Loss

Noah Brown's Heartfelt Last Words to Brother Matt Before Tragic Loss

Noah Brown has detailed the events leading up to the day his brother Matt Brown died. “I actually saw him the day before [Matt went missing], just in one of those, like, driving by, wave-type situations,” Noah exclusively told Us Weekly on Sunday, May 31. “I wish I had more time when I drove past. It was stopped, but … it is what it is.” Matt, who starred in the reality TV series Alaskan Bush People alongside Noah and the wider Brown family, was found dead at the age of 43. Local authorities confirmed his body had been recovered from the Okanogan River in Washington state on Saturday, May 30. Noah also detailed his final conversation with Matt to Us, revealing that it took place “probably two or three weeks” prior to Matt’s death. “I ran into him in the grocery store [and] the last thing I said to him was, ‘Okay, love you more, man,’ which was our thing,” Noah said. “You never know when the last time you’re going to see someone is, so [our family] always [says] how you feel right before you say goodbye, because it could be the last thing. Then that was it.” Noah also touched on his relationship with Matt during his interview with Us, sharing that the pair “were good” despite keeping “a distance” amid their large family dynamic. “In the later years, I realized it was best to just kind of let him do his own thing,” Noah said. “We never really had that kind of relationship where it was like a fight or anything. We were good, we just kept our distance. The stress of a large family gets to some people, and it’s just one of those things. Just let’s let him live his life.” Noah continued, “He and I were good and I’m very, very thankful for that. I do wish, though, that there could have been more, but in the end, that’s kind of always how it is. You always wish that you could have done more, no matter how much it was that you were doing.” The Discovery Channel docudrama-style series followed Billy Brown and Ami Brown’s survival in Alaska’s remote wilderness before charting life in Washington state with their seven children: Matt, Noah, Joshua “Bam Bam” Brown, Bear Brown, Gabe Brown, Bird Brown and Rain Brown. Bear confirmed Matt’s death via TikTok on Saturday, revealing that Noah was with a group of private citizens who recovered his oldest brother’s remains. Noah detailed the group’s efforts during his conversation with Us. “Myself and the rest of the people that were looking hauled [a] skiff up further on the shore, and that’s where it was … when the coroner came,” Noah said. “Right now, all I can say is that he was lost in the river. He was lost in the river and we found him.” Check our latest news in Google News Check our latest news in Apple News The Brown family shared a statement addressing Matt’s death with Us on Sunday. “It is with profound sadness and broken hearts that we share the loss of our beloved son, brother, uncle, and friend, Matthew Brown,” the statement read. “To millions of viewers, Matt was known as one of the original stars of Alaskan Bush People. To us, he was so much more.” The statement continued, “Matt was intelligent, curious, creative, and endlessly fascinated by the world around him. He was a gifted outdoorsman who felt most at home on the water, in the wilderness, or sharing what he had learned with others. He was an accomplished fisherman, an experienced boatman, and served as the radar operator on our family’s vessels. He loved adventure and never stopped exploring new ideas.” If you or someone you know is struggling or in crisis, help is available. What Links a Former MP's Brother to a Huge Court Case?

Heartbreak for Estee Williams: The Unseen Battle Behind Her Daughter's Loss

Heartbreak for Estee Williams: The Unseen Battle Behind Her Daughter's Loss

Influencer Estee Williams is paying tribute to her 8-month-old daughter, Estelle, after her death. “Until we meet again, my sweet Estelle,” Williams wrote via her Instagram Story on Saturday, May 30, alongside a photo of her holding her daughter. She added an angel wings emoji to the image. Williams confirmed to People on Sunday, May 31, that Estelle died from multiple organ failure and had spent several months hooked up to various hospital machines. Williams gave birth to Estelle in 2025. The baby was born with the congenital heart defect known as ventricular septal defect. “After a two-day long labor and complete exhaustion, my midwife and I agreed that transferring to the hospital was the best decision. Estelle was born another 24 hours later — healthy and absolutely beautiful. It wasn’t until a day and a half later that she failed two oxygen saturation screenings and a heart murmur was detected, at which point she was admitted to the NICU for further evaluation,” Williams wrote via Instagram in 2025. She continued, “The cardiologist performed an echocardiogram, and that’s when we learned she had two VSDs — one large and one moderate. We were told the larger hole measured 11 mm and that, sometime during her infancy, she would likely begin to show symptoms and need open-heart surgery to repair the VSDs with patches. Four days later, we were able to go home and begin our baby girl’s heart journey.” Williams shared that Estelle’s surgery was scheduled in November 2025, which was expected to be a “relatively short hospital stay” meaning about three to six days after surgery. “Our baby girl’s surgery was a success! The surgeon shared that hers was the largest VSD he had ever seen or repaired — measuring 30 mm and requiring a 3cm patch. A Healthy baby’s heart her age/weight would typically be about the size of a walnut, but because of the immense work her heart was doing to keep her alive, hers had grown to the size of an orange. It truly felt miraculous that we were able to bring our baby home from the NICU and that she was able to grow, even if only a little, before her surgery,” Williams wrote at the time. Check our latest news in Google News Check our latest news in Apple News Williams explained that because the “patch was so extensive and unable to contract like a normal septum,” Estelle’s “postoperative court became entirely unanticipated and was marked by significant complications.” Within two weeks, Estelle had “undergone her second heart surgery due to her complete heart block.” After Estelle went into cardiac arrest in December 2025, she was placed on life support. Williams was told that her daughter could not leave the hospital until she had a heart transplant. In April, Williams shared that Estelle was considered ineligible because of various health complications, including sepsis and issues with blood clotting. After the situation improved, Williams shared that Estelle was granted eligibility again. Earlier this month, Williams explained that Estelle had been removed from the transplant list for a second time. Tragic Discovery: Alaskan Bush People's Matt Brown Found by River

Tragic Discovery: Alaskan Bush People's Matt Brown Found by River

Authorities are crediting a “group of private citizens” for ultimately recovering the body of Alaskan Bush People star Matt Brown. “On Saturday, May 30, 2026, a group of private citizens conducting a search along the Okanogan River located a deceased individual in the river,” a Sunday, May 31, updated press release shared by Washington state’s Okanogan County Sheriff Office’s official Facebook account read in part. “The individual was recovered and brought to shore, where he was positively identified as Matthew Brown.” The press release, signed by Sheriff Jodie Barcus, continued, “Matthew Brown has been transferred into the custody and care of the Okanogan County Coroner. The cause and manner of death will be determined by the Coroner’s Office. The Okanogan County Sheriff’s Office extends its condolences to Mr. Brown’s family and loved ones during this difficult time.” The press release concluded by stating that “no further information” will be released, citing an “ongoing investigation” into the reality TV star’s untimely death. Bear Brown, Matt’s brother, confirmed his sibling’s death at the age of 43 via TikTok on Saturday, revealing that their other brother, Noah Brown, was with the group of private citizens when they located his oldest brother’s remains. “They found a body in the river a few hours ago and it was positively identified as being Matt,” Bear, 38, said at the time. “Noah was with them and helped them pull the body out of the water. Noah identified [Matt].” While an official cause of death has yet to be publicly revealed at the time of publication, Bear speculated that his brother’s death was “self-inflicted,” adding that he “never would have suspected that [Matt] would have hurt himself” even though his brother “struggled for a long time.” “I was so worried that he would end up ODed or something like that,” he continued. “I didn’t think he would hurt himself.” He added, “I ask people to please, please be respectful to my family and to my mom. Please watch the comments that you leave, guys. Sometimes words can hurt more than fists can … In one of [Matt’s] last videos, he was talking about how negative people were on his posts. You guys should keep in mind that people on the other side of your screen, people you are watching a video of, are real people too.” Later, Noah broke his silence in the wake of his oldest brother’s death, confirming he ID’d Matt’s body. Check our latest news in Google News Check our latest news in Apple News “For the past couple of days, I’ve been working with search and rescue groups trying to locate the body and today at 3:27, the group that I was working with located the missing body and I identified it as Matthew,” he told the camera. “My oldest brother, Matthew Brown, has passed away.” He added, “I was there when we pulled him out of the river. We hauled him up off the bank and then after the sheriff’s got there and everything, the coroner did his thing and I went down to identify that it was him.” If you or someone you know is struggling or in crisis, help is available.
