He’s so Hollywood. They notably did not attend David’s 50th birthday celebration in London last May.In an interview with Variety ahead of Friday’s ceremony, David shut down a question about the “strife” among the Beckham clan.“To be honest, I’m sorry to stop you there, but that’s a private matter,” he replied. “That’s the one thing that I don’t want to talk about.”At the beginning of the wide-ranging sit-down, David spoke about the honor of receiving his Hollywood Walk of Fame star.The scene was mayhem.“I actually can’t believe it,” he told the outlet. “I remember walking in Hollywood and looking for the stars, and all these years later, knowing that I’ll have my own star, it’s a huge honor. America has always meant so much to me.”The English athlete explained that “all he cared about” growing up was becoming a successful soccer player, insisting he “didn’t care about the fame, the wealth, all the admiration” that came with it.“So now, having a star, becoming a ‘sir,’ all these things that have come with the career that I’ve had, I feel very lucky,” he added in reference to being knighted by King Charles III last year.Eva Longoria was also present for the momentous occasion, as she’s a longtime friend of the Beckhams.
