Mariah Carey has expressed her indifference toward not being inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame's 2026 list. Despite the snub, she remains content with her accomplishments and appreciative of her fans.

When asked about not making the list, Carey simply responded, "No, period," indicating that she does not mind. She further stated, "Who cares? Give it to someone else. Fantastic."
Eligibility and Nominations
Artists become eligible for induction 25 years after their first commercial release; Carey's eligibility began in 2015. Although nominated in 2024, 2025, and again for 2026 alongside artists like Phil Collins and Lauryn Hill, she has not yet been selected.
Diverse Nominees
The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame considers a wide range of genres, recognizing diverse talents each year. The current nominees include Sade, Pink, Melissa Etheridge, Jeff Buckley, New Edition, and Wu-Tang Clan.
The ceremony is scheduled for Nov. 14 at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles and will be broadcast on ABC and Disney+ in December.
Carey's Career Achievements
Despite the Hall of Fame snub, Carey was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2020 and boasts numerous accolades such as 19 No. 1 hits and five Grammy wins. Her festive hit "All I Want for Christmas Is You" remains a perennial chart-topper.
