Ed Sheeran Fans Demand Refunds After Macklemore's 'Free Palestine' Speech Fallout New

Ed Sheeran Fans Demand Refunds After Macklemore's 'Free Palestine' Speech Fallout

Ed Sheeran’s fans are demanding to be refunded for their concert tickets after Macklemore was fired from the former’s stadium tour for his “Free Palestine” speech. One fan wrote on X this week, “Hey @Ticketmaster so @edsheeran is no longer having @macklemore on his tour we purchased these tickets when @macklemore was on the setlist and we would like to cancel our tickets for a full refund please and you can sell them to someone else! Thanks :).”Meanwhile, someone else tweeted at X’s AI Chatbot, Grok, and asked, “Will Ticketmaster give me a refund for my Ed Sheeran tickets since all of his other opening acts dropped out in solidarity with Macklemore […]?”Some of Ed Sheeran’s fans are demanding a refund for their concert tickets after Macklemore was dropped from the tour (Sheeran and Macklemore are seen here at the 2013 MTV Video Music Awards). Kevin Mazur/WireImage for MTVMany took to social media to make their demands.Another X account tagged Ticketmaster and asked the company, “[…] Are you also offering refunds for people who don’t want to go to a concert where an artist was kicked off a tour for speaking their mind?“Because it’s only fair. But my guess is that you’re not gonna do that, huh?” the account added.A fourth user called on anyone who has tickets to Sheeran’s shows to ask for their money back.Meanwhile, another account said that instead of asking for a refund, Sheeran’s fans with tickets already “should simply not go” to the tour.Macklemore (seen here with Sheeran at the 2014 iHeartRadio Music Festival) was dropped from Sheeran’s The Loop Tour for his recent “Free Palestine” speech. Theo WargoMacklemore showed support for Palestine at a recent New Jersey concert.“Empty seats will impact his tour a lot more than resold tickets,” the tweet read. “It’ll affect merch sales and venue profits too. Keep the tickets, don’t attend.”A different account claimed there’s been “a surge” in Sheeran’s tickets being put up for resale after Macklemore’s removal.Page Six has reached out to Sheeran’s rep and Ticketmaster for comment.Macklemore, 43, was dropped from Sheeran’s The Loop Tour after several venues notified the tour’s promoter that they would not allow him to perform after he yelled “Free Palestine” onstage at a recent show in New Jersey.Macklemore (seen here performing in Ireland in June 2025) placed blame on Sheeran for his firing. RedfernsMacklemore (pictured here performing in France in August) said he and Sheeran “had some difficult conversations this past week.” AFP via Getty ImagesIn a lengthy post on Monday, Macklemore placed responsibility on Sheeran, writing that “Ed Sheeran and his team have made the decision to remove me from The Loop tour.”The “Thrift Shop” rapper said he considers Sheeran “a brother,” but the pair “had some difficult conversations this past week.”Macklemore claimed that Sheeran, 35, told him that billionaire Robert Kraft called him and said he would “not be allowed” to perform at Gillette Stadium later this month. He further claimed that Sheeran told him that the words “Free Palestine” and the image of the Palestinian flag “were hurtful to a lot of people he spoke with.”“I told him that if those words were more offensive than tens of thousands of Palestinian children being killed by Israel, then there was a fundamental disconnect between where those people stood and where I stood,” he alleged. “But he couldn’t get past his public facing, ‘I don’t take sides.’”Macklemore claimed Sheeran (both seen above) told him that the words “Free Palestine” “were hurtful to a lot of people he spoke with.” / SplashNews.comSheeran (seen here at Jingle Ball 2025) claimed Macklemore’s firing “was the promoter’s decision, not mine.” David Fisher/for Global / ShutterstockSheeran, for his part, claimed in a post on Tuesday that Macklemore’s firing “was the promoter’s decision, not mine.”The “Thinking Out Loud” singer said that because of “how Macklemore conveyed part of his message during his performance” at their NJ shows, Sheeran learned from venues that future shows would be pulled if Macklemore wasn’t dropped.Sheeran insisted he tried to “build a bridge” between the two sides — including by talking to Kraft, 85 — but was ultimately unsuccessful.“Macklemore’s contract for the tour was with the promoter, not me,” Sheeran wrote. “I would never let down the fans who had made plans, nor would I abandon the touring crew and the other support acts and musicians who rely on me for work and to make a living.”Sheeran and Macklemore (seen here) have been friends for over a decade. Kevin WinterSome of Sheeran’s opening acts, including Finneas and Lukas Graham, have dropped out of the tour in support of Macklemore. Kevin MazurGetty Images for iHeartRadioKraft said in a statement to Page Six that Macklemore was banned from performing at Gillette Stadium because the venue doesn’t “provide a platform for hate speech.”“Based on Macklemore’s recent actions, material shared from the stage during Ed Sheeran’s shows in New Jersey, and a broader history of antisemitic rhetoric and imagery that we believe has been deeply offensive and hurtful to the Jewish community, we determined that his participation in the September 25th and 26th concerts at Gillette Stadium would cross that line,” Kraft stated.Following Sheeran’s statement on Tuesday, his opening acts Finneas, Lukas Graham, Aaron Rowe and Beoga all dropped out of the tour in support of Macklemore.Sheeran has ten shows remaining on the North American leg of his tour, which wraps up in December. Heartbreaking Search for Noah Woods Ends with Tragic Discovery

Updated 18:36 16 Sep 2026 GMT+1Published 17:48 16 Sep 2026 GMT+1He went missing from a playground yesterdayPolice have confirmed that they have found a body during the search for three-year-old Noah Woods. The partially deaf toddler went missing from a playground in Brantham, Suffolk at around 3pm yesterday (Tuesday 15 September).Earlier today, it was confirmed that the search had been extended to a specialist diving team, with more than 1,000 volunteers helping look for the toddler.A spokesperson from Met Police said: "A specialist diving team at the Met Police has been deployed to support Suffolk Police with the ongoing searches for missing boy Noah Woods."AdvertSupt Tom Pearse has just confirmed that dive teams have recovered the body of a child from Decoy Pond.During a press conference, the superintendent suggested that it is believed that the body belongs to Noah.Supt Tom Pearse said: “Formal identification has yet to take place, but the family of Noah Woods have been informed of this development.Noah Woods went missing on Tuesday (Family Handout/Suffolk Police/PA Wire)“The discovery of the body is currently being treated as not suspicious but unexplained.”He went on: "First and foremost, our thoughts are with Noah’s family and all who knew him."Since Noah was reported as missing vast number of our officers and staff have been deployed in numerous functions in the search for Noah and support for his family."We’ve been supported by the National Police Air Service, Suffolk Hazardous Area Response Team, Suffolk Lowland Search and Rescue, Environment Agency, HM Coastguard, Fire and Rescue Service and the ambulance service."We have been overwhelmed by the outpouring of public support, people putting on their boots and helping us search.“As a parent myself, I completely understand why people would want to help and such a response is one that typifies the strong sense of community and the heartwarming nature of Suffolk people that make the county such a special place."I am sure you appreciate the family now need time, space and privacy and I thank you for your understanding in this."Police previously released CCTV images of Noah's last known movements (PA)The toddler first became separated from a relative in the playground, and it is thought that he ran down an alleyway and was out of sight.Police described him as partially deaf, non-verbal and undergoing an assessment for autism, adding that he would not respond to his name.CCTV footage from the playground had shown Noah's last movements in the playground, but his whereabouts had remained a mystery. His father Rhys issued a heartbreaking plea to the public as hundreds joined the search for the youngster, saying: “I cannot go another night knowing he’s out there alone, please don’t give up on him guys. He is out there somewhere and I appreciate every single one of you.”Extensive search operations had been launched in the wake of Noah first going missing, with sniffer dogs, an overhead helicopter and rescue teams all deployed, until the search led them to the nearby Decoy Pond.Volunteers queuing to help with the search (PA)More than 1,300 members of the public joined the search for Noah, including mum-of-two Melissa Dark, who told ITV: "It's been an overwhelming response from the community."It shows the best of humanity and how people come together in a time of need for that family. Every half an hour this room has been full of people trying to help."Meanwhile, chairman of Brantham Paris Council Mal Bridgeman told the BBC: "I am astonished, warmed, to see so much generosity and spirit from people. Everyone wants to help, everyone wants to do their bit."There's been people out all night, we have had people come this morning as far afield as Birmingham, we've had specialists from Hampshire, just moved by Noah's story to come and help."Police cordoned off the lake earlier today (PA)Superintendent Pete Partridge said in a statement yesterday: “We are very concerned for Noah’s welfare and need to find him as a matter of urgency.“A vast number of resources have been deployed by ourselves, our emergency services colleagues and volunteers from SULSAR (Suffolk Lowland Search and Rescue). These resources have been bolstered by members of the public who have turned out in large numbers to assist and we are incredibly grateful for their help and support.“Given that fast-moving nature of the investigation, it is important that any public searches are co-ordinated with police to ensure we are working together, and that our resources are directed where they can be most effective.”Featured Image Credit: Suffolk Constabulary

New

Apsolutno. Mary Steenburgen and Malcolm McDowell's Unlikely Reunion Sparks Attention New

Mary Steenburgen and Malcolm McDowell's Unlikely Reunion Sparks Attention

Malcolm McDowell and Mary Steenburgen on the set of the 1978 time-travel thriller "Time After Time." ©Warner Bros/courtesy Everett Collection / Everett Collection Sparks flew between Malcolm McDowell and Mary Steenburgen on the set of the 1978 time-travel thriller “Time After Time.” The pair’s onscreen chemistry carried over off-screen, and they wed in 1980 — a marriage that produced two children including director Charlie McDowell. But by 1990, they split and never again appeared together in a project. Until now.The “A Clockwork Orange” leading man and the “Melvin and Howard” Oscar winner will share the screen once again in Adam Rifkin’s “Last Train to Fortune.” The film, produced by Brad Wyman, is a period Western, comedy, family movie and an unlikely reunion all in one. Ironically, McDowell first read the script for “Last Train to Fortune” back in 1986, at the height of his relationship with Steenburgen, and agreed to star opposite Bill Paxton, with legendary Brit Lindsay Anderson directing. Rifkin, then a recent USC grad, was poised to produce alongside Brad Wyman. (Rifkin’s mother Michelle, an 83-year-old former English teacher, wrote the screenplay.)The two, which wed in 1980 before splitting in 1990, have since happily remarried. Getty Images for AFIBut Anderson died suddenly of a heart attack in 1994, and the project was placed on the back burner. Over the ensuing decades, Rifkin turned his attention to other films, like the Edward Furlong starrer “Detroit Rock City” but tried to find a way to revisit his passion project. Then in 2017, Paxton died following open heart surgery, putting that dream on ice. As the Covid pandemic was ending, Paxton’s son James was coming into his own as an actor, and McDowell lobbied for his fellow Ojai denizen to play the illiterate cowboy role he himself had eyed decades earlier. McDowell instead would play the story’s erudite teacher. The filmmakers still needed someone to play Miss Maybelle, the story’s other schoolteacher.“We’re thinking, ‘Who would be great for that role?’ Someone said, ‘Mary Steenburgen!’ And everybody’s like, ‘Yeah, she’d be great, but would she and Malcolm want to work together?’” Rifkin tells Page Six Hollywood. “Obviously they’re a big modern family, and they all see each other at all the holidays, and everybody obviously gets along. But do they get along enough to want to work together again?” (Charlie McDowell’s wife Lily Collins is the most recent addition to the sprawling blended clan.)Adam Rifkin’s “Last Train to Fortune” has been in the works for more than three decades. Getty ImagesMcDowell first read the script for the movie in 1986, at the height of his relationship with Steenburgen. Ron Galella Collection via Getty ImagesThe team took the Steenburgen prospect to McDowell.“He said, ‘I think it’s a fantastic idea. James should ask her.’ And James was like, ‘Why should I ask her?’ He said, ‘Well, it might be a better way into the conversation if you broach it with her.’ So James texted her and said, ‘Hey, we’re doing this thing. This is a wonderful role for Malcolm and for me, and we just thought you’d be great in the role.’ And she said, ‘Intriguing.’ She read it. She said, ‘I’m in.’”Rifkin said the two described working with each other again as “like putting on a comfy pair of slippers.” ©Warner Bros/Courtesy Everett CollectionThey quickly found themselves falling back into the easy rhythm and camaraderie they shared in “Time After Time.” Rifkin says it was evident they still enjoyed working together even if they are happily married to others (Ted Danson for Steenburgen and Kelley Kuhr for McDowell.)“Both of them, independently of one another, said to me, ‘You know, working with Malcolm…’ or ‘Working with Mary, it just feels like old times. It’s just so natural. It’s like putting on a comfy pair of slippers.”“Last Train to Fortune,” which also stars Bernadette Peters and Laura Marano, opens Sept. 17 at the Angelika in New York.

CCTV Footage of Noah Woods Sparks Urgent Search in Suffolk New

CCTV Footage of Noah Woods Sparks Urgent Search in Suffolk

Updated 14:01 16 Sep 2026 GMT+1Published 13:31 16 Sep 2026 GMT+1Police have shared videos of the toddler playing in the park minutes before he vanishedNew CCTV images have shown Noah Woods' last movements at a playground before he disappeared.A major search is ongoing to find the missing three-year-old, who was last seen at 2.37pm on Tuesday afternoon (15 September), when he became separated from a relative after visiting the playground in Suffolk.Noah was in the park on Merriam Close in Brantham, with new camera footage and images shared by Suffolk Police as part of the major search. It shows the youngster running around and using equipment before he was reported as missing.Hundreds of people have since gathered to join the search for the partially deaf toddler, with police suggesting there is 'nothing to indicate anything sinister or any element of criminality', but that they are keeping an open mind'.AdvertNoah has been missing since Tuesday afternoon. (Suffolk Police)Police suspect that Noah may have run off down an alleyway towards a housing estate, but the search is complicated by the fact that he is non-verbal and will not respond to his name if called.Superintendent Tom Pearse, from the force, said officers are doing everything they can to find him with members of the public urged to check gardens and sheds.Alongside the significant public presence in the search, police have deployed sniffer dogs, rescue teams and an overhead helicopter.Noah’s father Rhys posted in a local social media group asking volunteers to widen their search beyond the village where possible, alongside a heartbreaking plea to get his son home safely. In it, he penned: “I cannot go another night knowing he’s out there alone, please don’t give up on him guys. He is out there somewhere and I appreciate every single one of you.”He also shared that the 'emergency services are very confident that the high risk areas (Decoy pond, railway lines) are all clear', suggesting that his son 'has gone further'.Police have shared the CCTV footage (Suffolk Police)"We still have nothing, all the emergency services and all of you have shown how strong this community is, with people coming from far and wide also," he added."This means knowing our boy, he has gone even further, could I ask that all of you brilliant people out there today expand further if you are able to? Reference where I have outlined, and maybe even further than this."Anyone who might come across Noah has been urged not to grab him or approach him but instead call police on 999 immediately and give their exact location using the What3Words app.Noah is described as being white with curly ginger hair, is also non-verbal and currently undergoing an assessment for autism. He was wearing a white Bluey T-shirt, shorts and black Vans trainers with a white stripe at the time.Police have since asked residents to check through their gardens, including sheds and outbuildings or anywhere that a small child could easily hide, while anyone with CCTV cameras or doorbell cameras in the village has also been asked to review their footage from 3pm onwards yesterday afternoon.Noah is still missing (Family Handout/Suffolk Police/PA Wire)Superintendent Pete Partridge said in a statement: “We are very concerned for Noah’s welfare and need to find him as a matter of urgency.“A vast number of resources have been deployed by ourselves, our emergency services colleagues and volunteers from SULSAR (Suffolk Lowland Search and Rescue). These resources have been bolstered by members of the public who have turned out in large numbers to assist and we are incredibly grateful for their help and support.“Given that fast-moving nature of the investigation, it is important that any public searches are co-ordinated with police to ensure we are working together, and that our resources are directed where they can be most effective.”He asked local residents not to “put themselves at risk or undertake independent searches overnight”, adding: “We will continue to keep Noah’s family and the public updated on the progress of our searches and investigation.”Anyone who thinks they have seen Noah is asked to contact Suffolk Police, quoting CAD 203 of 15 September.Featured Image Credit: Suffolk PoliceTopics: UK News
