Ben McKenzie Teases Possible 'The O.C.' Reboot: Could Ryan Atwood Return?

The O.C. alum Ben McKenzie isn't necessarily shutting the door on his time as Ryan Atwood for good. Speaking to Australia’s KIIS 1065 on Friday, September 4, McKenzie, 47, admitted he would be open to a reboot of the series. “I don’t know that there has ever been serious talks, but I’d be up for it,” he said. “Yeah, I think so, under the right circumstances. It was a great show. We had a great time. I learned a lot. I was so young, we were all young.” McKenzie shot to fame on the teen series, which premiered in 2003 and ran for four seasons until 2007. He starred alongside Mischa Barton, Adam Brody and Rachel Bilson. Meanwhile Barton, who portrayed McKenzie’s love interest Marissa Cooper, teased that there could one day be a return on the horizon during an interview with RTL last month. (Marissa was killed off at the end of season three.) “There might be a reunion coming up; we’ll see,” she cryptically told the outlet. After being pressed for more details, she said again, “We’ll see.” Bilson has also expressed potential interest in reviving her character Summer Roberts. “I would always be up for it. But it’s also this thing that people still watch and are still discovering,” the actress, 45, told Variety in June 2024. “So do you just leave that special moment as it is?” She added, “You weigh both sides because obviously it would be fun and I love everybody and it would be awesome to go back and we need to somehow bring Marissa back to life and do the whole thing if we do it. But also leaving it for what it was and how special it kind of was, is also a positive.” Brody, who played Seth Cohen, has been less enthusiastic about bringing back the beloved characters — suggesting it may not work as well decades after the show’s peak popularity. "I kind of don't think it can be done because I feel like, socially, I think we're in a different place. He continued, "I feel like The O.C., while it claims to be in a similar sense of Gossip Girl, while it would sort of say it's a critique [of affluence], it's not. It's a celebration. It's a celebration of affluence, in my opinion.” Brody argued that the world is such a different place than it was in the 2000s that it would likely be hard for audiences to stomach some elements as easily as they once did. “But I guess my point is like, for me, in a post-Donald Trump America, to go, ‘Let's go to Orange County,’ I feel like you have to have a real reckoning politically and socially,” he continued. “And is that what people want to see with this show? I don't know. And is there a way to do both? I mean, there is I suppose, but in my eyes, I'd probably want to torch it more than, like, the fans would want. So, I don't know who would be happy.”

El próximo sábado 5 de septiembre decenas de familias mexicanas se quedarán sin energía eléctrica y agua por un lapso aproximado de 8 horas debido a que la Comisión Federal de Electricidad (CFE) llevará a cabo trabajos de mantenimiento en la red general de distribución con el objetivo de garantizar la calidad y continuidad del suministro eléctrico, por lo que si quieres saber quiénes serán los usuarios afectados por esta drástica medida en esta nota te diremos todo lo que hay que saber al respecto.Fue a través de un comunicado difundido por las autoridades municipales de Tanquián de Escobedo, San Luis Potosí donde se informó que el próximo sábado 4 de septiembre al menos 4 zonas del referido municipio se quedarán sin luz y agua por un lapso de 8 horas y se precisó que dicha medida se debe a que la Comisión Federal de Electricidad (CFE) tiene programado realizar trabajos de mantenimiento en la red general de distribución, lo cual, también afectará la bomba de Tampicol y por ello también de suspenderá el suministro eléctrico. CFE busca garantizar la calidad y continuidad del servicio eléctrico con este tipo de acciones. Patrick Clancy and his legal team are reacting to a judge’s decision to declare a mistrial in his ex-wife Lindsay Clancy’s murder case. “Patrick Clancy is grateful to the Court and to the jurors for their hard work, their commitment and their perseverance,” Patrick’s attorney David Meier said in a statement to CBS News on Friday, September 4. “The loss of Patrick’s children is something from which he will never recover and from which there will never be closure.” The statement continued, “The prospect of reliving this tragedy through another trial is extraordinarily painful — for Patrick, for his family and for all of us.” Earlier in the day, a judge declared a mistrial following a nearly six-week trial for the murder of the former couple’s three children: Cora, 5, Dawson, 3, and Callan, 8 months. Jurors deliberated for nearly seven days, but ultimately could not reach a unanimous decision and were deadlocked 11-1. Lindsay previously admitted to fatally strangling her three kids in January 2023 before an apparent suicide attempt, which left her paralyzed from the waist down. Her defense team has argued that she had been suffering from postpartum psychosis and bipolar disorder before and at the time of the killings, claiming she was not able to differentiate right from wrong and therefore should not be held criminally responsible for her children’s deaths. On Friday, Lindsay’s attorney Kevin Reddington was asked about his client’s ex-husband. “I think, Patrick, you heard the 911 call; I think you can judge his credibility by that 911 call,” Reddington told reporters via NBC News. “I don’t know what is in Patrick’s mind when he testified, and the jury was able to evaluate him.” When asked about rumors and speculation on social media that have falsely accused Patrick of murder, Reddington replied, “Regarding the people on the internet, I certainly don’t dismiss them. It’s amazing how they’re able to figure out facts, and they do investigations; it’s just truly amazing. This whole concept of the internet, it really is.” Patrick, who has not been accused or charged with a crime involving his children, was one of the first individuals to testify during the trial. He described the day he found his wife after she jumped out of a second-story window of their home. “She killed the kids!” he yelled in a 911 call played for the jury. As prosecutors decide whether to move forward with another trial, Lindsay’s defense team is sharing their perspective on the high-profile murder case. “Well, obviously this is not a time for gloating or bragging, expressing victory. It’s a very sad case,” Reddington told reporters on Friday amid a deadlocked 11-1 jury. “[Plymouth County District Attorney Tim] Cruz knows that he was crushed, that he doesn’t have a case, he doesn’t have to stand here and say that he’s advocating on behalf of the victims and then look down to see what their names are.” Reddington continued, “I’m representing a woman who is a fantastic, wonderful individual. This woman is so brave; so awesome. Every day she came into this courthouse, stood tall — no pun intended, the poor thing is in a wheelchair as we all know for the rest of her life — sat there through seven weeks of a trial where nobody had anything bad to say about her except for the two prosecutors and apparently Tim Cruz.” After court, Cruz tried to remind the public about the three children lost in a terrible situation. “In the end, I bring it all back to the child victims in this case, Cora, Dawson, and Callan. This was, and it has always been, about getting justice for those three little babies,” he told reporters. “We’re here at this courthouse today because those children are not. Aleksandar Vučić, Niš, sednica Glavnog odbora Srpske napredne stranke / Radule Perisic/ATAImages autor: 05. sep. 2026. 12:27 Glavni odbor Srpske napredne stranke (SNS) odlučio je danas da će nosilac liste Ujedinjena Srbija na predstojećim narednim parlamentarnim izborima biti aktuelni predsednik Srbije Aleksandar Vučić i da će on biti kandidat za premijera Srbije, ako ta lista pobedi. Oglas Pre nego što je Glavni odbor doneo te odluke, predsednik SNS Miloš Vučević je najavio da će lista SNS predstojećim izborima nositi naziv "Aleksandar Vučić - Ujedinjena Srbija".Vučević je rekao da će, s jedne strane, biti njihova lista, koju čine ljudi koji se ne stide svog imena i prezimena, koja će imati program i koja će prema njegovim rečima imati "najsposobnijeg državnika" kao prvog na listi - Vučića.On je naveo da će s druge strane biti sve liste, dodavši da direktno ili indirektno svi glasovi koji će biti dati drugim listama idu na "blokadersku stranu"."Izbor je jednostavan - naša lista Aleksandar Vučić - Ujedinjena Srbija i ostale liste, direktno ili indirektno blokaderske. Do pobede, ubedljivije nego ikad do sada", rekla je Brnabić na otvorenoj sednici GO SNS, kojoj je Vučević zahvalio na "emotivnom, snažnom govoru".Ona je rekla da se SNS ne bori protiv studenata, navodeći da su oni uz Vučića, već "onih koji su ih iz inostranstva organizovali u blokadere, sa jednim ciljem da sruše Vučića" jer je "personifikacija osnažene, suverene Srbije i pretvore je u podaničku"."Mi smo protiv onih koji su ih organizovali iz inostranstva da budu anonimni, duhovi bez lica. Mi ćemo na našoj listi imati više studenata nego oni na takozvanoj studentskoj listi", rekla je Ana Brnabić, čije je pominjanje imena Vučića kao premijera ispraćeno dugim, jakim aplauzom.Šef poslaničke grupe u Skupštini Srbije "Aleksandar Vučić - Srbija ne sme da stane" Milenko Jovanov rekao je da druge liste čine "ljudi bez lica", da su studenti "smokvin list" za nevladine organizacije, a da je za drugu stranu Vučić "previše Srbin i previše svoj". Procurorul-şef european, Laura Codruţa Kövesi, şi procurorul general al Republicii Populare Chineze, Ying Yong, au semnat un acord care stabileşte modalităţile practice de cooperare judiciară între Parchetul European (EPPO) şi Procuratura Supremă a Poporului din Republica Populară Chineză.„Acordul stabileşte modalităţile practice de cooperare judiciară între cele două autorităţi, în conformitate cu cadrele juridice aplicabile, cu scopul de a intensifica în special combaterea grupărilor de criminalitate organizată care aduc atingere intereselor financiare ale Uniunii Europene, a spălării banilor şi a corupţiei, precum şi de a îmbunătăţi eficienţa recuperării activelor provenite din activităţi ilicite”, informează Parchetul European, potrivit News.ro.Angajamentul comun pentru consolidarea cooperării se reflectă şi într-un plan de acţiune pentru perioada 2026-2028, care va contribui la dezvoltarea unor practici eficiente de cooperare în aceste domenii.EPPO este parchetul independent al Uniunii Europene. Acesta este responsabil de investigarea, urmărirea penală şi trimiterea în judecată a infracţiunilor care aduc atingere intereselor financiare ale UE. Editor : B.E.

Karayolları Genel Müdürlüğü’nün kontrolünde bulunan 15 Temmuz Şehitler ve Fatih Sultan Mehmet köprüleri ile otoyol ve çevre otoyollarının 30 yıllığına özelleştirilmesine ilişkin Cumhurbaşkanı kararı, Resmi Gazete’nin bugün sayısında yayımlandı. Söz konusu varlıklar, bir bütün ya da parçalar halinde ayrı ayrı işletme hakkı devri, kiralama, mülkiyetin gayri ayni hakların tesisi, gelir ortaklığı modeli ve işin gereğine uygun diğer yöntemlerden biri ya da birkaçı birlikte uygulanarak özelleştirilecek. Mülkiyet devri yapılmayacak. Özelleştirme işlemi, 31 Aralık 2031 tarihine kadar tamamlanacak.3 OTOYOL DAHA ÖZELLEŞTİRME KAPSAMINA ALINDICumhurbaşkanı kararına göre, Karayolları Genel Müdürlüğü’nün sorumluluğunda olan Niğde-Pozantı Otoyolu, Gaziantep Çevre Otoyolu ve Bursa Çevre Otoyolu’nun Çağlayan Kavşağı-Yenişehir Kavşağı arası bağlantı yolları ve bunların üzerinde bulunan bakım, işletme ve hizmet tesisleri, ticaret toplama ve yük aktarma merkezleri özelleştirme kapsam ve programına alındı.Kararda, 2010 yılında özelleştirme kapsam ve programına alınan Karayolları Genel Müdürlüğü’nün işlettiği köprü ve otoyollara da işaret edildi.Bu tarihte özelleştirme kapsam ve programına alınan köprü ve otoyollar şöyle:Edirne-İstanbul-Ankara,Pozantı-Tarsus-Mersin,Tarsus-Adana-Gaziantep,Toprakkale-İskenderun,Gaziantep-Şanlıurfa,İzmir-Çeşme,İzmir-Aydın Otoyolları,İzmir ve Ankara Çevre Otoyolları,Boğaziçi Köprüsü (15 Temmuz Şehitler) ve Fatih Sultan Mehmet Köprüsü ve çevre otoyolu ile bunların bağlantı yolları, hizmet tesisleri, bakım ve işletme tesisleri, ücret toplama merkezleri ve diğer mal ve hizmet üretim birimleri ile varlıkları. BÜTÜN YA DA PARÇA PARÇA ÖZELLEŞTİRİLECEKCumhurbaşkanı kararı uyarınca söz konusu köprüler, otoyollar ile çevre ve bağlantı yolları bir bütün halinde veya ayrı ayrı gruplar halinde işletme hakkı devri, kiralama, mülkiyetin gayri ayni hakların tesisi, gelir ortaklığı modeli ve işin gereğine uygun diğer yöntemlerden biri ya da birkaçı birlikte uygulanarak özelleştirilecek. Mülkiyet devri yapılmayacak.SÖZLEŞME SÜRESİ 30 YILKöprüler, otoyollar ile çevre ve bağlantı yolları, 30 yıl için özelleştirilecek. Özelleştirme işlemleri, 31 Aralık 2031 tarihine kadar tamamlanacak.Özelleştirme işlemleri tamamlanıncaya kadar söz konusu köprü, otoyollar, çevre ve bağlantı yollarının bakım işletme ve hizmet tesisleri ve yük aktarma merkezlerinin bakım onarım işlerini Karayolları Genel Müdürlüğü yürütecek.Karayolları Genel Müdürlüğü, özelleştirmenin tamamlanmasının ardından işletmeyi devralacak şirketlerin köprü ve otoyollarda bakım ve onarım ile diğer yükümlüklerini belirleyecek, gerekli denetimleri yapacak.YENİ Parti Zonguldak Milletvekili Deniz Yavuzyılmaz, köprü ve otoyolların özelleştirmesiyle ilgili karara tepki göstererek, "AKP’nin halka ihanet planı Resmi Gazete’de yayınlandı. Cumhurbaşkanı kararıyla 2 Boğaz Köprüsü, 8 Otoyol ve 2 Çevre Otoyolunun 30 yıllığına özelleştirilmesi kararı alındı" dedi.BAKANLIKTAN YAPILAN AÇIKLAMA Karayolları Genel Müdürlüğü tarafından işletilen ve özelleştirme kapsam ve programında bulunan otoyol ve köprülere yönelik teknik, hukuki ve mali hazırlık çalışmaları; ilgili kurumlarla koordinasyon içinde, mevzuata uygun ve şeffaf biçimde sürdürülmektedir. Yürütülen bu rutin hazırlık çalışmaları kamu varlıklarının satışını değil, mülkiyetin Devlette kalması kaydıyla işletme hakkının belirli bir süre için devredilmesini esas alan bir modelin değerlendirilmesine yöneliktir. Bu modelde öncelik gelir elde etmek değil; otoyollarda hizmet kalitesini yükseltmek, bakım ve yatırımları hızlandırmak ve işletme verimliliğini artırmaktır. Diğer yandan, kamuoyunda otoyolların yıllık 600 milyon dolar kâr ettiği ve 30 yıllık toplam kârın 18 milyar dolara ulaştığı yönünde eksik ve yanıltıcı değerlendirmeler yapılmaktadır. Oysa 600 milyon dolar kâr değil, gelirdir. Bu tutarın yaklaşık 300 milyon doları bakım ve onarım giderlerine ayrılmaktadır. Ayrıca önemli tutarda yatırım ve yenileme harcamaları ile personel ve işletme giderleri bulunmaktadır. Tüm bu maliyetler göz ardı edilerek yapılan hesaplamalar, otoyolların gerçek ekonomik değerini yansıtmamakta ve kamuoyunu yanıltmaktadır. Bu nedenle 600 milyon doların doğrudan 30 yıl ile çarpılarak "30 yıllık kâr" veya "kamu zararı" hesabı yapılması teknik ve mali açıdan geçerli değildir. Altyapı değerlemelerinde trafik projeksiyonları, bakım ve yenileme yatırımları, işletme ve personel giderleri, finansman maliyetleri ve riskler birlikte dikkate alınır. Yukarıda belirtildiği üzere, yürütülen çalışmaların temel amacı; hizmet kalitesini artırmak, bakım ve yatırımları hızlandırmak, işletme verimliliğini yükseltmek ve sürdürülebilir bir altyapı yönetimi oluşturmaktır. Ücretsiz otoyolların ücretli hale getirilmesi, geçiş ücretlerine ilişkin ilave bir artış kararı ve çalışanların mevcut haklarını kaybetmesine yol açacak herhangi bir karar bulunmamaktadır. 5.9.2026 tarihli Resmi Gazetede yayınlanan Cumhurbaşkanı Kararı özelleştirme ihalesine çıkılmasını ifade etmeyip, yapılacak işlemler konusunda Özelleştirme İdaresi Başkanlığını yetkilendirmektedir. Sürecin tüm aşamaları Özelleştirme İdaresi Başkanlığı tarafından ilgili mevzuat çerçevesinde, şeffaflık, rekabet ve hesap verebilirlik ilkeleri esas alınarak yürütülmektedir.
