Patrick Clancy Speaks Out After Mistrial Leaves Family in Limbo

Patrick Clancy and his legal team are reacting to a judge’s decision to declare a mistrial in his ex-wife Lindsay Clancy’s murder case. “Patrick Clancy is grateful to the Court and to the jurors for their hard work, their commitment and their perseverance,” Patrick’s attorney David Meier said in a statement to CBS News on Friday, September 4. “The loss of Patrick’s children is something from which he will never recover and from which there will never be closure.” The statement continued, “The prospect of reliving this tragedy through another trial is extraordinarily painful — for Patrick, for his family and for all of us.” Earlier in the day, a judge declared a mistrial following a nearly six-week trial for the murder of the former couple’s three children: Cora, 5, Dawson, 3, and Callan, 8 months. Jurors deliberated for nearly seven days, but ultimately could not reach a unanimous decision and were deadlocked 11-1. Lindsay previously admitted to fatally strangling her three kids in January 2023 before an apparent suicide attempt, which left her paralyzed from the waist down. Her defense team has argued that she had been suffering from postpartum psychosis and bipolar disorder before and at the time of the killings, claiming she was not able to differentiate right from wrong and therefore should not be held criminally responsible for her children’s deaths. On Friday, Lindsay’s attorney Kevin Reddington was asked about his client’s ex-husband. “I think, Patrick, you heard the 911 call; I think you can judge his credibility by that 911 call,” Reddington told reporters via NBC News. “I don’t know what is in Patrick’s mind when he testified, and the jury was able to evaluate him.” When asked about rumors and speculation on social media that have falsely accused Patrick of murder, Reddington replied, “Regarding the people on the internet, I certainly don’t dismiss them. It’s amazing how they’re able to figure out facts, and they do investigations; it’s just truly amazing. This whole concept of the internet, it really is.” Patrick, who has not been accused or charged with a crime involving his children, was one of the first individuals to testify during the trial. He described the day he found his wife after she jumped out of a second-story window of their home. “She killed the kids!” he yelled in a 911 call played for the jury. As prosecutors decide whether to move forward with another trial, Lindsay’s defense team is sharing their perspective on the high-profile murder case. “Well, obviously this is not a time for gloating or bragging, expressing victory. It’s a very sad case,” Reddington told reporters on Friday amid a deadlocked 11-1 jury. “[Plymouth County District Attorney Tim] Cruz knows that he was crushed, that he doesn’t have a case, he doesn’t have to stand here and say that he’s advocating on behalf of the victims and then look down to see what their names are.” Reddington continued, “I’m representing a woman who is a fantastic, wonderful individual. This woman is so brave; so awesome. Every day she came into this courthouse, stood tall — no pun intended, the poor thing is in a wheelchair as we all know for the rest of her life — sat there through seven weeks of a trial where nobody had anything bad to say about her except for the two prosecutors and apparently Tim Cruz.” After court, Cruz tried to remind the public about the three children lost in a terrible situation. “In the end, I bring it all back to the child victims in this case, Cora, Dawson, and Callan. This was, and it has always been, about getting justice for those three little babies,” he told reporters. “We’re here at this courthouse today because those children are not. Söz konusu varlıklar, bir bütün ya da parçalar halinde ayrı ayrı işletme hakkı devri, kiralama, mülkiyetin gayri ayni hakların tesisi, gelir ortaklığı modeli ve işin gereğine uygun diğer yöntemlerden biri ya da birkaçı birlikte uygulanarak özelleştirilecek. Mülkiyet devri yapılmayacak. Cumhurbaşkanı kararıyla 2 Boğaz Köprüsü, 8 Otoyol ve 2 Çevre Otoyolunun 30 yıllığına özelleştirilmesi kararı alındı" dedi.BAKANLIKTAN YAPILAN AÇIKLAMA Karayolları Genel Müdürlüğü tarafından işletilen ve özelleştirme kapsam ve programında bulunan otoyol ve köprülere yönelik teknik, hukuki ve mali hazırlık çalışmaları; ilgili kurumlarla koordinasyon içinde, mevzuata uygun ve şeffaf biçimde sürdürülmektedir. Yürütülen bu rutin hazırlık çalışmaları kamu varlıklarının satışını değil, mülkiyetin Devlette kalması kaydıyla işletme hakkının belirli bir süre için devredilmesini esas alan bir modelin değerlendirilmesine yöneliktir. Bu modelde öncelik gelir elde etmek değil; otoyollarda hizmet kalitesini yükseltmek, bakım ve yatırımları hızlandırmak ve işletme verimliliğini artırmaktır. Diğer yandan, kamuoyunda otoyolların yıllık 600 milyon dolar kâr ettiği ve 30 yıllık toplam kârın 18 milyar dolara ulaştığı yönünde eksik ve yanıltıcı değerlendirmeler yapılmaktadır. Oysa 600 milyon dolar kâr değil, gelirdir. Bu tutarın yaklaşık 300 milyon doları bakım ve onarım giderlerine ayrılmaktadır. Ayrıca önemli tutarda yatırım ve yenileme harcamaları ile personel ve işletme giderleri bulunmaktadır. Tüm bu maliyetler göz ardı edilerek yapılan hesaplamalar, otoyolların gerçek ekonomik değerini yansıtmamakta ve kamuoyunu yanıltmaktadır. Bu nedenle 600 milyon doların doğrudan 30 yıl ile çarpılarak "30 yıllık kâr" veya "kamu zararı" hesabı yapılması teknik ve mali açıdan geçerli değildir. Altyapı değerlemelerinde trafik projeksiyonları, bakım ve yenileme yatırımları, işletme ve personel giderleri, finansman maliyetleri ve riskler birlikte dikkate alınır. Yukarıda belirtildiği üzere, yürütülen çalışmaların temel amacı; hizmet kalitesini artırmak, bakım ve yatırımları hızlandırmak, işletme verimliliğini yükseltmek ve sürdürülebilir bir altyapı yönetimi oluşturmaktır. Ücretsiz otoyolların ücretli hale getirilmesi, geçiş ücretlerine ilişkin ilave bir artış kararı ve çalışanların mevcut haklarını kaybetmesine yol açacak herhangi bir karar bulunmamaktadır. 5.9.2026 tarihli Resmi Gazetede yayınlanan Cumhurbaşkanı Kararı özelleştirme ihalesine çıkılmasını ifade etmeyip, yapılacak işlemler konusunda Özelleştirme İdaresi Başkanlığını yetkilendirmektedir. Sürecin tüm aşamaları Özelleştirme İdaresi Başkanlığı tarafından ilgili mevzuat çerçevesinde, şeffaflık, rekabet ve hesap verebilirlik ilkeleri esas alınarak yürütülmektedir. Europa se îndreaptă spre iarnă cu rezerve scăzute de gaze, ceea ce amenință să intensifice concurența globală pentru aprovizionare. În această vară, guvernele și companiile au amânat reaprovizionarea rezervelor din cauza unei creșteri bruște a prețurilor pe fondul războiului dintre SUA și Iran, relatează Bloomberg. Și asta, în ciuda faptului că în urma crizei gazelor din 2022, țările UE au decis să constituie rezerve semnificative pentru fiecare sezon de încălzire.Conflictul s-a prelungit, iar până la începutul toamnei, aprovizionarea prin Strâmtoarea Ormuz rămâne practic paralizată, prețurile gazelor fiind duble față de cele de acum un an.Luptă globală pentru combustibiliAcum, pentru a umple capacitatea de stocare chiar și până la obiectivul minim de 75%, Europa trebuie să achiziționeze peste 100 de terawați-oră, ceea ce va costa aproximativ șapte miliarde de euro, conform calculelor Bloomberg. Ritmul de injecție va trebui crescut la niveluri nemaiîntâlnite în această perioadă a anului de la criza energetică din 2022.„Acest lucru creează riscul unei „lupte globale pentru combustibil”, spune Go Katayama, analist șef GNL la Kpler. Iarna, prețurile la gaze ar putea depăși 100 de euro pe megawatt-oră, împingând Europa de pe piață în favoarea unor țări mai sărace, precum Pakistanul și Bangladesh. Taiwanul și Thailanda caută, de asemenea, surse de aprovizionare, iar Coreea de Sud își asigură livrările pentru iarnă.Chiar dacă Strâmtoarea Ormuz s-ar redeschide în curând, piața GNL ar rămâne totuși tensionată, potrivit lui David Lewis, analist senior pentru gaze și GNL la Wood Mackenzie Ltd. Familja e Liridona Ademajt ka ndërmarrë një tjetër hap lidhur me vendimin gjyqësor për vrasjen e saj, duke kërkuar që dënimi ndaj Kushtrim Kokallës të ashpërsohet.VAZHDO LEXIMIN ME POSHTE!Përmes avokatit të saj, familja Ademaj ka dorëzuar ankesë në Gjykatën e Apelit kundër vendimit të shkallës së parë.Në ankesë kërkohet që dënimi prej 30 vjetësh burgim, i shqiptuar ndaj Kushtrim Kokallës, të zëvendësohet me burgim të përjetshëm.Kokalla ishte i vetmi nga tre të dënuarit në këtë rast që nuk u dënua me burgim të përjetshëm në shkallën e parë.Familja e Liridona Ademajt konsideron se dënimi i shqiptuar ndaj tij nuk përputhet me peshën e veprimeve për të cilat është shpallur fajtor.Për këtë arsye, familja ka kërkuar që Gjykata e Apelit ta rishqyrtojë vendimin dhe të vlerësojë nëse dënimi duhet të jetë më i rëndë.Në ankesën e dorëzuar përmenden edhe rrethanat rënduese që, sipas familjes, nuk janë vlerësuar sa duhet nga gjykata e shkallës së parë.Mes elementeve të ngritura në ankesë është edhe shkalla e rrezikshmërisë shoqërore të veprës.Gjithashtu, familja i është referuar mënyrës se si është kryer vepra dhe rrethanave që kanë shoqëruar realizimin e planit.Një tjetër pretendim i familjes është se Kushtrim Kokalla nuk ka shfaqur pendesë për veprimet për të cilat është dënuar.Sipas tyre, edhe kjo rrethanë duhet të merret parasysh gjatë vlerësimit të dënimit nga instanca e dytë.Rasti lidhet me ngjarjen tragjike të 29 nëntorit 2023, kur Liridona Ademaj humbi jetën.Sipas aktgjykimit të shkallës së parë, Naim Murseli, Granit Plava dhe Kushtrim Kokalla kishin vepruar së bashku në hartimin dhe realizimin e planit që çoi në vrasjen e saj.Në aktgjykim thuhet se Kokalla ishte përfshirë fillimisht në plan, por kishte refuzuar që ta kryente vetë veprimin.Më pas, sipas konstatimeve të gjykatës, ai kishte gjetur Granit Plavën për të marrë pjesë në realizimin e planit.Plava kishte pranuar të përfshihej në këtë plan në këmbim të parave dhe më pas kishte shtënë me armë zjarri në drejtim të Liridona Ademajt.Në qendër të planit, sipas aktgjykimit, ishte bashkëshorti i Liridonës, Naim Murseli.Gjykata kishte përmendur si motive të rastit raportet e çrregulluara mes çiftit, mllefin, dëshirën për hakmarrje dhe përfitimin financiar.Tashmë, familja Ademaj kërkon që përgjegjësia penale e Kokallës të rivlerësohet dhe dënimi i tij të ashpërsohet në burgim të përjetshëm.Megjithatë, ankesa e familjes nuk nënkupton automatikisht ndryshimin e vendimit. Dënimi prej 30 vjetësh mbetet në fuqi si vendim i shkallës së parë, deri në momentin kur Gjykata e Apelit të shqyrtojë ankesën dhe të marrë vendimin përfundimtar. PV: 1,011
