Oklahoma Officer and Wife Accused of Exploiting Elderly Man for Lavish Lifestyle

An Oklahoma police officer and his wife are accused of stealing thousands of dollars from an 82-year-old man and splurging on concert tickets and a cruise with his funds. Andrew McVicker, 28, an officer with the Alva Police Department, and Abbigale McVicker, 24, were arrested Saturday, August 29, on charges of exploitation of an elderly person and conspiracy, according to a news release issued by the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation that same day. The McVickers have been linked to multiple financial transfers that “occurred without the victim's knowledge or consent,” the agency said. “The total financial neglect against the 82-year-old victim is estimated to be over $74,000,” the agency also said in the release. In March, the Oklahoma Department of Human Services Adult Protective Services learned that the older man, of Alva, was potentially being exploited and initiated an investigation, according to authorities. The investigation revealed that in 2023, the McVickers moved in with the 82-year-old, authorities said. Around the same time, Andrew “was also added to the victim's bank accounts and was made power of attorney,” authorities said. Agents with the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation discovered Andrew withdrew $15,900 from the man’s accounts between April 2025 and May 2026, according to the agency. Andrew also sent more than $25,000 to his wife over Cash App from January 2024 to March 2026, authorities said. Andrew and Abbigale are accused of spending thousands on a variety of expenses, including restaurants, online shopping and transactions that took place in Mexico, according to credit card statements and financial records viewed by KOCO-TV. When investigators interviewed the older man, he said he was unsure whether he allowed the McVickers to use his credit card, the TV station reported. Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation agents said the man was "barely able to walk and did not appear to be taking care of his hygiene,” per KOCO-TV. Andrew reportedly told investigators with the Oklahoma Department of Human Services that he was assisting the man with “his finances and other needs,” the TV station reported. The Alva Police Department has placed Andrew on administrative leave in connection with the criminal investigation, authorities said. The city of Alva commented on the allegations involving Andrew in a statement on August 29. “While the City of Alva does not comment on personnel matters, nor matters of ongoing investigations, administration and staff have taken immediate and appropriate action based on the limited information provided,” the city said. “We understand the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation (OSBI) is conducting an investigation; the City of Alva has and will cooperate fully with said investigation.” It wasn’t immediately clear whether Andrew or Abbigale had retained legal counsel.

AAK-ja merr qëndrim të prerë për kandidaturën e Bekim Sejdiut për PresidentVAZHDO LEXIMIN ME POSHTE!Deputeti i Aleancës për Ardhmërinë e Kosovës, Burim Ramadani, ka bërë të qartë se AAK-ja nuk e konsideron veten të obliguar nga marrëveshja e arritur mes Lëvizjes Vetëvendosje dhe Lidhjes Demokratike të Kosovës për kandidaturën e Bekim Sejdiut për President.Ramadani ka deklaruar se qëndrimi i AAK-së për procesin e zgjedhjes së Presidentit është përcaktuar më herët dhe nuk ndryshon si pasojë e marrëveshjes së fundit mes LVV-së dhe LDK-së.Sipas tij, marrëveshja për Sejdiun është rezultat i negociatave vetëm mes dy subjekteve politike dhe nuk përfshin ofertën apo qëndrimin e AAK-së.Duke folur në emisionin “Pressing” në T7, Ramadani është pyetur se si do të veprojë AAK-ja në rast se Bekim Sejdiu paraqitet para Kuvendit si kandidat për President.Deputeti i AAK-së ka theksuar se partia e tij e ka përcaktuar pozicionin që më 26 qershor dhe se ky qëndrim nuk lidhet me marrëveshjen e arritur së fundmi nga LVV-ja dhe LDK-ja.“Ne e kemi qëndrimin tonë që nga 26 qershori. Oferta që kemi bërë nuk është përfshirë në marrëveshjen VV-LDK. Kjo është një marrëveshje mes dy partive dhe ne nuk kemi obligime ndaj saj”, ka deklaruar Ramadani.Kjo deklaratë tregon se AAK-ja nuk e sheh marrëveshjen mes Albin Kurtit dhe Lumir Abdixhikut si një dakordim që automatikisht duhet të mbështetet edhe nga partitë e tjera parlamentare.Megjithatë, Ramadani nuk ka specifikuar nëse deputetët e AAK-së do të votojnë kundër kandidaturës së Sejdiut apo nëse do të marrin një tjetër qëndrim gjatë procesit të votimit në Kuvend.Ai ka bërë vetëm të qartë se partia nuk merr përsipër asnjë obligim politik që rrjedh nga marrëveshja e arritur mes LVV-së dhe LDK-së.Çështja bëhet më e rëndësishme për shkak se zgjedhja e Presidentit kërkon mbështetje në Kuvend dhe një marrëveshje politike për emrin e kandidatit nuk garanton automatikisht zgjedhjen e tij.Bekim Sejdiu është propozuar si kandidat pas negociatave të zhvilluara mes kryetarit të LVV-së, Albin Kurtit, dhe kreut të LDK-së, Lumir Abdixhiku.Pas dakordimit mes dy partive, Abdixhiku bëri të ditur se emri i Sejdiut ishte kandidatura për të cilën palët kishin arritur marrëveshje, ndërsa Sejdiu pranoi propozimin për postin e Presidentit.Por pas publikimit të marrëveshjes, janë shfaqur edhe kundërshtime brenda LDK-së, duke e bërë më të komplikuar sigurimin e votave të nevojshme.Deputeti i LDK-së dhe ish-kryeministri Avdullah Hoti ka deklaruar se nuk do ta mbështesë Bekim Sejdiun në procesin e zgjedhjes së Presidentit.Hoti ka argumentuar se, sipas tij, Sejdiu nuk përfaqëson figurën unifikuese që do të mund të krijonte konsensus më të gjerë politik dhe ka shprehur kundërshtime edhe për mënyrën se si është arritur marrëveshja.Edhe disa deputetë të tjerë të LDK-së kanë deklaruar se nuk kanë qenë të konsultuar paraprakisht për kandidaturën e Sejdiut, ndonëse jo të gjithë kanë bërë publik qëndrimin e tyre për votimin.Në këtë situatë, deklarata e Ramadanit e shton edhe më shumë pasigurinë rreth numrit të votave që kandidatura e Sejdiut mund të sigurojë në Kuvend.AAK-ja, sipas Ramadanit, mbetet në qëndrimin e saj të përcaktuar më 26 qershor dhe nuk e konsideron veten pjesë të marrëveshjes së arritur mes LVV-së dhe LDK-së.Kështu, vëmendja tashmë është zhvendosur te sigurimi i mbështetjes parlamentare, pasi kandidatura e Bekim Sejdiut mund të përballet me sfida jo vetëm nga partitë jashtë marrëveshjes, por edhe nga deputetë brenda LDK-së.Për momentin, dakordimi për Bekim Sejdiun mbetet një marrëveshje mes LVV-së dhe LDK-së, ndërsa qëndrimi i AAK-së tregon se mbështetja e partive të tjera nuk mund të merret si e garantuar. Kızımın yüzü gözümün önünden gitmiyor. ‘Anne’ deyişi kulaklarımdan gitmiyor. Bunu kim ödeyecek?”Bugün üçüncü gün.11 yaşındaki Saliha Miray’dan...Altı yaşındaki Mehmet Asaf’tan haber yok.Hatay’dan Kuzey Kıbrıs’a tatile giden Ayten ve Hayri Biçer ile iki çocuklarının bindiği ‘Filo Jet’ adlı katamaran Girne açıklarında alabora oldu.Sekiz yolcu hayatını kaybetti.Saliha Miray ve Mehmet Asaf dahil 18 yolcu ise kayıp.Ya Akdeniz sularında...Ya da 550 metre derinlikteki ‘kara tabutun’ içinde, bir yerdeler.Taşucu’nda rıhtıma çarptı30 Ağustos’ta Akdeniz’de suya gömülen Filo Jet’in öyküsü 26 yıl önce başlıyor.2000’de Fransa’da inşa edildi.O tarihte adı ‘IRIS Jet’ idi.İspanya’ya bağlı Balear adalarında çalıştı.Bir yıl sonra 280 kişiyle seyahat halindeyken makineleri devre dışı kaldı.Yolculara sağlık müdahalesi yapıldı.2003 yılına kadar birçok kez arıza geçirdi.Gemide tespit edilen ‘gizli ayıplar’ nedeniyle yüklü tazminata hükmedildi.Hizmet dışı kalınca Türk şirketi tarafından satın alındı.O yıl Türkiye’ye geldi.Mersin Taşucu’nda fırtınadan ötürü rıhtıma çarptı ve ağır hasar aldı.Buna rağmen sefere devam ettirildi.Bir ay sonra su girişleri görülünce işletme durduruldu.Taşucu limanında terk edildi.2015’e kadar hacizler, icralar ve satış süreçleri birbirini izledi.‘Ucuza getirdiler’Gemi mühendisi Muzaffer Erdal Kılıç, 2016’da Antalya Serbest Bölgesi’ne çekilen geminin kompozit gövde tamiri için davet edildi.Kılıç, şunları anlatıyor:“İlk gördüğümde geminin altı baş taraftan yarılmış, kabuk gibi soyulmuş ve katmanlara ayrılmış şekilde hasarlıydı. Hasarlı bölgeler açıldıkça sorunun birkaç lokal yamayla sınırlı olmadığını gördüm; daha geniş alanlara yayıldığı kanaatine vardım.”Kılıç, gemiyi ‘vakum infüzyon’ adı verilen, kuru elyaf katmanların kalıba serilip vakum yardımıyla havasının çekilmesi ve reçinenin emdirilmesiyle onaracaktı. Bu, İtalyan klas kuruluşu RINA kurallarına uygundu.Kılıç, ‘Bir şekilde kapatıp gemiyi yüzdürmek’ anlayışına baştan itiraz ettiğini savunuyor. Tamirin üstünkörü yürütülemeyeceğini, aksi halde gövdenin ciddi arızaya uğrayabileceğini, kırılarak batma riski doğabileceğini sözlü olarak ifade ettiğini kaydediyor.Kılıç’a göre, şirket maliyetten kaçınıp ucuz olanı seçti.Tamir işi Kılıç’tan alındı, taşerona verildi.Ve gemi ‘el yatırması’ denilen, elyafın bir kalıp üzerine elle yerleştirilip reçine emdirme yoluyla, yani en eski yöntemle tamir edildi.Kılıç’a bakılırsa RINA’nın bu tamiri kabul ettiğini gösteren bir yazı, plan ve rapor bulunmuyor.29 kusurGemi 2017’de Yunan bayrağıyla Kos çevresinde çalışırken makine arızası geçirdi.Ertesi yıl Hatay Büyükşehir Belediyesi’nin deniz otobüsü projesine satılmak istendi.Türk Loydu kayıtlarına göre 29 kusur, eksiklik ve uygunsuzluk saptandı.Deneme seyrinde, sancak makineden yoğun duman çıktı, motor istenen performansı veremedi.
