Trump's Bold Peace Deal: The Secret Behind the $25B Asset Unfreeze New

Trump's Bold Peace Deal: The Secret Behind the $25B Asset Unfreeze

Iran has agreed not to build a nuclear weapon and to reopen the Strait of Hormuz, in return the US will release some $25 billion in frozen assets as part of a President Trump-brokered peace deal, according to details released by Tehran on Sunday.Iranian officials were cautiously optimistic that a deal to finally halt the conflict which has raged for three and a half months, throwing world markets into chaos, was on the horizon. On Saturday, US President Donald Trump and Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said a deal would be signed on Sunday and would immediately result in the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz, the crucial chokepoint through which a fifth of the world’s oil supplies flow.Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Frank E. Shawn Thew – Pool via CNP/ShutterstockVice President JD Vance would potentially be the head of the US delegation, while Iran is sending its top negotiator, parliamentary speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf. However, on Sunday, there were conflicting reports over whether Iranian officials were being scrambled to travel abroad soon.Iran’s Foreign Ministry insisted Saturday there were no plans for his negotiating team to travel to Geneva or elsewhere in the next day or two.President Trump is expected to remain in Washington to attend Sunday’s UFC fight at the White House, which coincides with his 80th birthday. The apparent break in the log jam comes as Israel’s military announced Sunday it had launched strikes on neighboring Lebanon, targeting Hezbollah infrastructure in the capital, Beirut.Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said the strikes were in response to Hezbollah attacks on the north of the country.Tehran, which is Hezbollah’s main backer, last responded to Israeli strikes on Beirut with its own strikes on Israel last weekend.Iran has also insisted previously that any US-Iran ceasefire must include an end to Israeli strikes on Lebanon.

Seth Rogen's Silent Stand: The Hidden Rift with James Franco New

Seth Rogen's Silent Stand: The Hidden Rift with James Franco

Seth Rogen is standing by a decision that ended one of Hollywood’s most recognizable creative partnerships.Years after James Franco’s career was derailed by sexual misconduct allegations, Rogen says nothing has changed when it comes to where they stand today — professionally or personally.Rogen was recently asked about his longtime friendship with Franco, whom he collaborated with on a string of hit projects, including “Pineapple Express,” “This Is the End” and “The Interview” before publicly distancing himself from the actor following allegations that surfaced in 2018.When asked how he navigated ending such an important friendship, Rogen acknowledged the topic remains deeply personal.“I mean, I’m trying to think how much I want to personally share about this,” Rogen told The New York Times’ “The Daily” podcast.During the interview, it was noted that society continues to grapple with questions surrounding accountability, forgiveness and whether public figures who have behaved badly should be welcomed back into people’s lives.Franco and Rogen at the premiere of “The Interview” in Los Angeles, December 11, 2014. REUTERSRogen declined to delve into details but made clear his position has not changed.“I honestly think the nuance of it is too personal for me to get into right now. It is a very personal thing, and I think there’s like the public-facing side of it, which I’ve spoken about, and I have the same stance publicly that I’ve had,” Rogen said.“And I think the proof is in the pudding more than anything. I have not worked with him in years, you know, but the personal side of it is just … it’s so nuanced, and it involves people that I don’t know if I should be dragging into this,” he continued.“I don’t know what I would benefit from getting deeply into it in this moment, but I’d say everything I’ve said … nothing has changed really since the last time I talked about all this.”Rogen and Franco at a screening of “Pineapple Express” in New York City, August 4, 2008. Marion Curtis/Startraksphoto.comRogen then delivered his clearest statement yet about the future of their relationship, saying, “I haven’t worked with him in a really long time, and I have no plans to.”When asked whether he still speaks to Franco, Rogen responded, “I haven’t talked to him in a long time, no.”The comments come as Franco attempts to rebuild his acting career, years after multiple allegations of inappropriate sexual behavior surfaced. The actor was first accused of sexually inappropriate conduct by five women in a Los Angeles Times report published in January 2018.Franco at a screening of “Find Your Friends” at the Vista Theatre in Hollywood, June 1, 2026. Xavier Collin/Image Press Agency / BACKGRIDA year later, former students filed a class action lawsuit in Los Angeles County Superior Court alleging Franco and his associates pressured students into performing explicit scenes on camera and engaged in inappropriate behavior toward female students at an acting school he co-founded with business partner Vince Jolivette.According to the complaint, the women alleged they paid monthly tuition to attend the school and were subjected to intimidation and sexual objectification while being promised potential acting opportunities.Franco agreed to settle the lawsuit in June 2021, signing off on a payment of $2.235 million.Despite the controversy, Franco has slowly returned to acting and reflected in 2024 on the fallout during an interview with Variety while promoting the Italian film “Hey Joe.”“I’m so grateful to be working,” Franco said. “I did go through a lawsuit, and during that lawsuit, I wasn’t working. But then COVID hit, so everybody wasn’t working. So, I don’t know, it was all … I mean, we were all kind of in it. So, it was sort of like, ‘I don’t know what I am.’”Franco also addressed the collapse of his friendship with Rogen, revealing that despite his efforts, the two have not reconnected.“No. I haven’t talked to Seth,” Franco told Variety. “I love Seth. We had 20 great years together, but I guess it’s over. And not for lack of trying. I’ve told him how much he’s meant to me.”Franco is best known for his roles in “Spider-Man,” “127 Hours” and other Hollywood hits.

World Cup Chaos: NYC Brought to a Standstill New

World Cup Chaos: NYC Brought to a Standstill

The beautiful game made an absolute mess of the Big Apple Saturday, as mass gridlock shuttered Midtown streets and left traffic snarled to make it easier for fans to get to MetLife Stadium for the region’s first World Cup match. Travelers were especially impacted around Penn Station and Madison Square Garden, where streets were closed to speed up shuttle buses for fans heading across the Hudson River to North Jersey to watch Brazil play Morocco. About 1.2 million soccer fans were expected to hit the hosting NYC area for the world’s biggest sporting event.“It is chaotic,” said soccer fan Tim Bouman, who was wearing a Brazil shirt and visiting from the Netherlands. Mass gridlock rocked the Big Apple Saturday with traffic snarling to a screeching halt as major Midtown streets were shuttered to facilitate travel to MetLife Stadium for the region’s first match in this year’s World Cup. Bloomberg via Getty Images“I just got my [World Cup] tickets online yesterday, and I’m just asking the cop, like, right now, where we need to go? One cop told us to go this way, and the other one told us to go the other way, and now we need to walk around again.”Bouman said he believes NYC is more focused on the New York Knicks and their quest for an NBA title than on dealing with the World Cup.“I think if the [World Cup] was in Europe, it would have been, like, way more organized, for sure,” he said.NY Transit trains at Penn Station were strictly reserved for World Cup ticketholders for much of Saturday, leaving everyone else seeking to use the service scrambling to find Uber, buses and other alternate means of transportation.“It’s a little bit annoying right now because I can’t get my home train, … so now I have to make alternate plans on how to get home,” said Jennifer Charles of Lyndhurst, New Jersey, who was stranded for hours at Penn Station after traveling to the Big Apple to pick up her daughter.Authorities — including NYC Mayor Zohran Mamdani — should have done a much better job alerting the public of the anticipated commuter apocalypse, said Charles, 40.“I just feel that the people in power should be better organized … telling people the trains aren’t running, because now how am I supposed to get home?” she ripped. About 1.2 million soccer fans were expected to hit the hosting NYC[-New Jersey area for the world’s biggest sporting event. USA TODAY Network via Reuters ConnectTo add to the area chaos, the NYPD also set up a “frozen zone” around MSG Saturday to weed out non-ticketholders due to other overlapping events: a Knicks “watch party” outside The Garden for Game 5 of the NBA Finals, and a 5 Seconds of Summer concert inside “The World’s Most Famous Arena.”Alex Rotali said she was under the impression from various media reports that NJ Transit would run normally until 2 p.m., and was “flabbergasted” to learn it shifted to strictly to World Cup routes 90 minutes earlier.“It’s really aggravating ‘cause we’re already late” after being redirected numerous times at Penn Station because of the match, said Rotali, who was with her two children and planning to travel to a waterpark in East Hanover, New Jersey, for her son Jamir’s ninth birthday.“I might just take an Uber, to be honest, as expensive as that might be, … like $90-something dollars, but I have no choice at this point, because it’s gonna take even longer now with everything.”Soccer fans also found the process confusing. In many cases, they arrived at the NJ Transit entrance of Penn Station at 32nd and Seventh Avenue, only to be directed across the street to head north to 33rd St — which was closed to vehicle traffic and lined with extra buses—so they then walked east on Sixth Ave and enter the line at 32nd Street. And then they had to deal with jacked-up prices of $98 for a round-trip from Penn Station to MetLife — rather than the standard $12.90 fare.“We got our [NJ Transit] tickets ahead of time. Very expensive,” said Anna Crew of Waco, Texas, who was wearing a Brazil jersey. “But then there’s no instructions on how to get [to the trains], but we’ve been able to ask a couple people, and they’ve given us pretty good directions.”Former Knick Steve Novak welcomed Saturday’s frantic scene, saying it’s “New York City at its finest.”“You have the Knicks and the NBA Finals,” the ex-sharpshooting forward told The Post outside MSG. “Obviously, the scheduling didn’t anticipate it… And obviously, now that the World Cup is in town, it’s just its sports heaven.”Mamdani and the city’s Department of Transportation have declared “Gridlock Alert” days for each of the eight days a World Cup game will be played at MetLife, running from Saturday through July 19. Besides the Penn Station restrictions and temporary streets closures and bus-only corridors, truck deliveries will be heavily restricted from 30th to 60th Streets, from noon and 11:00 P.M.

What Does LDK's Offer to Vetëvendosje Mean for Kosovo's Future? New

What Does LDK's Offer to Vetëvendosje Mean for Kosovo's Future?

PDK's Bold Stance: What They Really Think About Allying with Vetëvendosje New

PDK's Bold Stance: What They Really Think About Allying with Vetëvendosje
