Italia: calo improvviso delle temperature, atteso maltempo dal 1° novembre

Sull'Italia è in arrivo il freddo: già da oggi, venerdì 30 ottobre, un nucleo di aria fredda giunge dal Mare del Nord. Nessun "freddo polare", come spiega a Fanpage.it il Colonnello e meteorologo Mario Giuliacci.

Patrick Stewart confessed his “practically non-existent” relationship with his children caused him “significant grief” in the years leading up to his death. “There’s not a day that goes by that I’m not pained by the memory of my children, who they were and by a sense of responsibility that they became who they are in part because of me and my influence or lack of influence on them,” the actor confessed during an October 2023 interview with the Irish Independent. He added, “I always put my acting work first, before my family.”Stewart — who died on Wednesday at the age of 86 — shared son Daniel, 58, and daughter Sophie, 54, with ex-wife Sheila Falconer.Patrick Stewart lamented his distant relationship with his children in a 2023 interview. Stewart also confirmed it had been difficult to be the “kind of father he wanted to be.” “Given that I’m separated from my children now, we don’t have relationships, they have become very important,” he continued. “I never thought that this would happen, but both my children are in their 50s, they’re not children anymore, they’re adults. Mile 18: The Surprising Breaking Point for NYC Marathon Runners New

Mile 18: The Surprising Breaking Point for NYC Marathon Runners

See more of our coverage in your search results. This is where they admit de feet. Mile 18 has proven to be the toughest point of the New York City Marathon — and is where quitters are statistically inclined to rip off their racing bibs and give up, The Post has learned.Dubbed “The Wall,” the 7-block stretch of Upper East Side combines a perfect storm of factors to drive even dedicated runners to abandon their dreams — including a lack of crowds cheering you, a distance where the body starts to break down and, even, the convenience of being in Manhattan. The highest number of marathon runners quit between Mile 18 and the 30K mark, Road Runners data shows. G.N. Miller/New York Post“You go through Brooklyn — which is an insane adrenaline rush and amazing experience — you go through Queens, which is great, then when you come off of the 59th Street Bridge, it’s like nothing you’ve ever experienced before,” said Annie Reeves, who ran her first marathon in 2023.“You go to all of these phases of amazing, unmatched energy where people are pulling you through. And Mile 18 is a low point.”Last year, 203 runners gave up the ghost between mile 18 and kilometer 30, which is 18.6 miles, making it the area with the highest loss of runners on the course, according to Road Runners data. That stretch lies along a fairly quiet area of First Avenue between 96th to 103rd streets, which is littered with parking lots, sports fields and municipal buildings rather than apartments. It’s where the wall-to-wall crowds begin to thin out and runners face comparative silence — especially coming off the heels of the deafening roars that greeted them off the Queensboro Bridge just two miles prior. It also precedes the steepest ramp of the course just before Mile 20 — the Willis Avenue Bridge — for the race’s brief foray into The Bronx.Road Runners coach Steve Mura offers racers advice for pushing through to the finish line. Donald Pearsall / NY Post DesignAnd while many runners traditionally count the hill at mile 20 as the proverbial “wall,” recent data tells a different story.Mile 18, which is just 70% into the race, has proven to be the most common give-up point throughout the sprawling, five-borough course across the most recent decades.“It’s likely that runners who are having tough days decide to cut their marathon short and wait until they’re back in a convenient location in Manhattan to drop out,” Road Runners told The Post. It may be no coincidence that the start of the stretch is a block from the Second Avenue subway. The thinning crowds turn the race into a “mental game,” said Annie Reeves. Annie ReevesBut Omar Medjid, founder of the World’s Fair Run Crew, theorizes that the pain of Mile 18 is universal regardless of the course.“That’s when you start looking at your watch, you’re kind of panicking and you’re just saying, ‘Okay, am I going to hit my goal time? Is my pace dropping?’ You start to feel it in your body versus the actual data,” said Medjid, 33, of College Point, who ran the NYC Marathon in 2024.“You’re already tired from hitting the bridge and everything, then you know you still got that long stretch of Fifth Avenue to go. A lot of mental was really what it would be, but I do think it’s mainly based on the actual mile rather than exactly where it is.”What pulled Medjid through was seeing his friends and fellow running community members along the route — which helped him remember why he was running the race.“Remember your why” is a major piece of advice Road Runners coach Steve Mura offers racers when pushing through “The Wall” and toward the finish line.Omar Medjid theorizes that Mile 18 is the hardest part regardless of the course. Dan Chen“Before the race, write it on your hand. Why did you sign up? When those moments get hard, and it will get hard, look down at your hand,” said Mura, the organizer’s director for Runner Training and Education.“Think about the next mile, not the remaining eight.”Pack plenty of fuel, keep your eyes peeled for water stations and use the cheering crowds to your advantage, he continued.

Ian McKellen's Heartfelt Tribute to Patrick Stewart: A Friendship Spanning Decades

Updated 00:51 30 Oct 2026 GMTPublished 00:42 30 Oct 2026 GMTThe two acting legends had been friends for decades, with McKellen sharing some touching memories of his pal Sir Ian McKellen has shared a heart-breaking tribute to his long-time friend Sir Patrick Stewart following his death aged 86.The X-Men star sadly passed away on 28 October at his Los Angeles home, ‘following a brief and poignant journey with Alzheimer’s Disease and Lewy Body Dementia’.A statement shared on Stewart’s Instagram page said that his wife Sunny Ozell was by his side."He has been held in the warm embrace of family and friends, surrounded by live music, prayer, tears, laughter, and the kind of profound emotion that only he could inspire after a lifetime of devotion to us all,” the statement continued.AdvertFollowing the tragic news, McKellen has shared a touching tribute to his friend. In a post on Instagram, he wrote: “Before everything else, Patrick was defined by being born and bred in Yorkshire, the proud county in the north of England which he loved to the end.Sir Ian McKellan has paid a sweet tribute to his long-time friend (David M. Benett/Dave Benett/WireImage)"You could hear it in his accented voice and in the stern honesty with which he told you what he thought and felt. Yorkshiremen have no truck with half-truths or avoidance of big issues. He wore his heart on his sleeve, which made him a man to rely on, to admire and in my case, love.”The post went on to share that they first crossed paths at the Royal Shakespeare Company in the 1970s but didn’t star in any of the same productions.“My first strong memory was a few years later, meeting him in the street in central London when he told me about an offer to take over a leading part in Star Trek,” he continued“‘But Patrick think of your stage career in the UK. Do you really want to risk—getting lost in Hollywood for years and years?’ Well, he took the risk and thank goodness for us all that he did for not just his devoted Trekkies but film and theatre audiences, who marvelled at his using international celebrity to star in a string of cinema successes (X-Men of course) and in great classical plays by Shakespeare, Ibsen, Arthur Miller, Peter Shaffer, Pinter and Beckett at Stratford-upon-Avon, in London’s West End and on Broadway.“America was his adopted home, where he met his adored Sunny who has cared for him through sickness and health, through thick and thin. But he never forsook his origins: and the proudest achievement of the most respected and beloved actor of his generation on either side of the Atlantic, was his appointment as Chancellor of Huddersfield University in Yorkshire.”He concluded the post by adding: “His farewell performance in Avengers: Doomsday is yet to be seen.”After first meeting in the 1970s, the pair struck up a close friendship after both joining the X-Men franchise, with Stewart playing Professor Charles Xavier and McKellen taking on the role of Magneto. In 2009, they appeared on stage together in a production of Waiting for Godot and later, in 2013, No Man's Land. Their final onscreen appearance together will be in the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday, which is set to hit cinemas in December. Updated 21:27 29 Oct 2026 GMTPublished 21:03 29 Oct 2026 GMTJames Acaster had a quite emotional exit where he admitted he was a traitor after they figured out his murder of Ross KempJames Acaster has made Celebrity Traitors history by becoming the first ever traitor to admit that he was a traitor at the roundtable, marking the second time someone has admitted to their role this series but the first time it was ever done intentionally. At an intense roundtable that saw Maya Jama and King Kenny, his fellow traitors, come under heat for the very first time, Acaster shocked the whole table and everyone watching Celebrity Traitors at home by holding his hands up and admitting that they got him. This came as they began running down the idea that one of Kenny, James, or Maya had to be involved in the murder in plain sight which killed Ross Kemp a few episodes prior. After catching him the faithfuls still celebrated, with Leigh-Anne saying 'no one saw that coming' and Maya calling it the 'hardest experience' in the castle. AdvertAcaster said that a 'weight has been lifted' (BBC)The twist appears to finally confirm what the 'bombshell revelation' revealed by a TV insider to The Sun which was said to be something that neither producers nor viewers would ever expect. One fan posted on the The Traitors Reddit simply saying: "Oh My God! I wasn't expecting that" with 100s of comments joining in with their shock at what Acaster had done. One of the most popular simply said: "Same. Wtf. Didn't think they were allowed to do that." The move does technically break the 'Traitors Oath' which James took, which promises to 'keep your identity and the identity of your fellow players a secret'. Maya and Kenny could turn on James in a shock twist (BBC)Another comment said: "Might have saved Maya somewhat cause it was going to be him or her." In the Uncloaked aftershow Nick Mohammed shared this shock, saying that he found James' admission emotional and moving.Speaking in his exit interview after the show, Acaster said of the final roundtable: "I went in thinking I've got no heat on me whatsoever, it was a surprise, but I was glad that they caught me."He became the second this season to say he was a traitor, albeit his was far less a moment of madness than Richard's, saying in his interview: "Sometimes you just say it straight after the Traitor's pick, shout it at the top of your lungs, roll the dice and see what happens there. Will the Traitors manage to take the crown? They will attempt to do it with one less amongst them (BBC/Studio Lambert/Euan Cherry)"I was really surprised by the people who still weren't convinced [that Richard was a traitor]. I think those people have got to go away and have a bit of a look at themselves, and be like, 'Why did I believe that man so much?'"Joanne, Myha’la as well. I think she was overly empathising with Richard because she was disappointed she wasn't a Traitor."Explaining his decision a bit more, Acaster said: "The idea of doing that got me through the whole experience because you feel as a Traitor sometimes, when you see people have real life reactions that are bigger than the game, you feel bad, and I would have to remind myself they don't have a game without you, literally, if no one's doing this stuff, they can't play, and they all want to play. So you are doing an important job here, so they all have something to do, and when they catch you, they'll be really happy and they'll like it, and it will feel good to just tell them and see that reaction."
