Još 13 članova napustilo SPS pred izbore, među njima i kandidat za poslanika

Foto:FoNet/Socijalistička partija Srbije autor: 09. okt. Louise Gallagher jailed after invented tribunal witness led police to question accused man

Louise Gallagher produced fake doctor’s notes and lied about the evidence of sexual assaults during two employment tribunals (Picture: Tristan Kirk/PA Wire) A liar who faked receiving cancer treatment and invented evidence of sexual assaults while suing her former employers has been jailed. Louise Gallagher produced fake doctor’s notes and lied about the evidence of sexual assaults while suing distribution giant Bunzl for sex discrimination and mounting a separate unfair dismissal claim against health product supplier Essity. In the fake sick note, the 50-year-old claimed she had been signed off work for two years to receive cancer treatment, when her employment tribunal against Bunzl was faltering. On Friday at Wood Green Crown Court, Judge Timothy Godfrey sentenced Gallagher to four years and eight months in prison after she admitted three counts of perverting the course of justice. ‘It was a prolonged, blatant, and egregious course of conduct, liable to undermine public justice,’ the judge said. ‘Your conduct was sophisticated and planned, including lying to a tribunal judge on oath.’ The 50-year-old has been jailed for four years (Picture: Metropolitan Police/PA Wire) In her tribunal against Bunzl in 2020 and 2021, Gallagher made a series of false claims that Transport for London had CCTV footage of her being sexually assaulted by a colleague at Waterloo station. She doctored a genuine TfL email to support her lie, and maintained the existence of CCTV evidence in false evidence to a judge, even after TfL had confirmed the footage did not exist. When that lie was found out, Gallagher put forward the fake doctor’s sick note to try to delay the tribunal proceedings. In 2022 and 2023, she invented a witness to a sexual assault allegation which formed part of her tribunal case against Essity. Gallagher gave a bogus statement to police, posing as the invented witness over email, leading to the man she had accused being questioned under caution. But police grew suspicious, and they discovered that Gallagher had created the supposed witness’s email account and activated the phone after making the sexual assault claim. The court heard Gallagher was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2020, but the GP whose name was on the fake sick note said she had not written it. The handwritten letter created by Gallagher read: ‘The claimant is very sick with breast cancer which has spread to other parts of the body so needs years of treatments and some of the tumours can’t be operated on until the treatments shrink them. ‘Her health must come first and she is currently fighting for her life and this is why we have asked for this case to be postponed for two years.’ Gallagher’s claim was thrown out, and she was ordered to pay £8,000 to cover Bunzl’s legal costs. Gallagher’s claim of sexual harassment against Essity was only made in response to her being put under investigation for falsifying documents and being dishonest. That claim was eventually struck out when a judge concluded she had ‘repeatedly provided false evidence during the course of these Employment Tribunal proceedings’. The two companies told the court on Friday that they had been forced to spend tens of thousands of pounds defending Gallagher’s claims, and devoted significant resources to investigating the evidence which turned out to be bogus. The court heard Gallagher was already a convicted fraudster, with convictions from 2015 for stealing £4,500 from her employers before submitting doctored bank statements and a bogus letter from HMRC to try to conceal the missing money. She was also convicted in 2014 of buying £1,822 of equestrian equipment using bank details stolen from a woman’s handbag during an event. The court heard on Friday that Gallagher maintains that the sexual assault and harassment allegations she made in her employment tribunal claims against Bunzl and Essity were genuine, and says she produced the fake evidence in her ‘desperation to be believed’. Gallagher, of Marlborough in Wiltshire, pleaded guilty to three counts of perverting the course of justice. The judge said she will serve one-third of her prison term before being automatically released. Get in touch with our news team by emailing us at webnews@metro.co.uk. This author shall be sure to inform you of any updates. Until then... yours truly, Lady Whistledown."It's the latest expansion of the hugely popular Netflix franchise, following the success of Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story in 2023.And it's a love story fans have been desperate to see for years, particularly because they already know how it ends.Rupert Evans briefly played Edmund Bridgerton in the main series (Netflix)Edmund's tragic death was revealed in the second season, when he was stung by a bee while out hunting with his eldest son, Anthony. His allergic reaction proved fatal, leaving Violet (played as an adult by Ruth Gemmell in the main series) devastated and pregnant with their eighth child, Hyacinth.Since losing Edmund (played briefly by Rupert Evans), Violet has spent years devoted to raising their eight children, with more recent seasons showing her tentatively considering the possibility of finding love again. Now, fans could finally get to see the romance that made Edmund the love of her life. And while we're yet to find out who will be cast in the leading roles, viewers reckon they've already found their perfect match for young Violet.Ruth Gemmell plays adult Violent in the main Bridgerton series (Netflix)Taking to social media, fans have been making their casting wishes very clear, with actress Emily Bader emerging as a firm favourite. One X user wrote: "Emily Bader as young Violet Bridgerton would eat so hard."Another agreed: "THEY LOOK THE SAMEEEE.""Emily Bader, get your agent on the phone NOW," a third begged."EMILY BADER AS YOUNG VIOLET BRIDGERTON PLEASE," another demanded. And it doesn't stop there, with fans also suggesting a familiar face should play Edmund alongside her.Fans are hoping for Emily Bader to take on the role (Axelle/Bauer-Griffin/FilmMagic)"Emily Bader and Tom Blyth pick up the phone," one fan penned.Another added: "TOM BLYTH EMILY BADER PICK UP YOUR PHONES."Blyth, 31, is best known for playing young Coriolanus Snow in The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes and Billy the Kid in the historical drama series of the same name. The actor has also starred alongside Bader in Netflix's People We Meet on Vacation, the romantic comedy based on Emily Henry's bestselling novel, which is likely why fans are convinced the pair would have chemistry on screen. The pair previously starred together in People We Meet on Vacation (Netflix)If you've been wondering where else you've seen Bader, the 29-year-old American actress hails from Temecula, California. She's perhaps best known for playing Lady Jane Grey in Prime Video's My Lady Jane, a 2024 historical fantasy series that reimagines the story of the young Tudor queen with romance, comedy and a little bit of magic. So, yes, she's already got experience in a period piece, and playing a young woman navigating romance in a historical setting is hardly unfamiliar territory.Bader has also appeared in Paranormal Activity: Next of Kin, Charmed and the crime drama Fresh Kills.Of course, neither Bader nor Blyth has been confirmed for the Bridgerton spin-off – but if fans have their way, Netflix might want to get those phones ringing.Featured Image Credit: NetflixTopics: Bridgerton, TV And Film, Netflix, Entertainment, Period Drama
