Kushner: Zvërnec land cost €230 million; the project could reach €4 billion

Top Channel

Michael Douglas says he called five women after falling for Catherine Zeta-Jones New

Michael Douglas says he called five women after falling for Catherine Zeta-Jones

Published 17:06 8 Oct 2026 GMT+1Douglas said he was with five women at once before settling down with Catherine Zeta-JonesMichael Douglas claims he and Kobe Bryant battled it out to win the affection of his now-wife Catherine Zeta-Jones at the start of their relationship, but that a dog became the start of a ‘what-if’ situation between the pair. The Fatal Attraction actor has been dropping bombshell after bombshell in his new memoir, One Helluva Ride, but this time it involves the late NBA star. After the pair, who have now been together for almost 30 years, met at the Deaville American Film Festival in France in 1998, their romance was met with an obstacle not many could survive – 2795 miles.“She was smart, funny, unpretentious, and, yes, breathtakingly beautiful. She just seemed so confident and self-assured, too,” Douglas wrote of their meeting.AdvertBut Douglas lived in New York, while Zeta-Jones was in Pacific Palisades, and happened to live below none other than Kobe Byrant.Catherine Zeta-Jones was the object of two men's affections, apparently (Photo by Mike Marsland/WireImage)Douglas wrote that the athlete was enamored by his wife, three years before he’d go on to marry Vaness Laine in 2001.“Apparently Kobe kept finding excuses to stop by Catherine’s house,” Douglas said, adding: “I’m not sure how many times he ‘lost his dog’ but it was a lot!”Douglas, 82, and Zeta-Jones, 57, went on to get engaged on New Year’s Eve in 1999 before marrying just one year later at the Plaza Hotel in New York City.Zeta-Jones is mentioned throughout his book, and in one section, Douglas claimed he fell for her after watching her hit 1998 movie, The Mask of Zorro.Douglas also looked back on the couple’s brief 2013 split, admitting that he “never gave up hope” that they’d reconcile.Kobe and Vanessa were married until his death, which was caused by a tragic helicopter crash in January 2020.Sadly, their 13-year-old daughter, Gianna, was also killed in the accident.Zeta-Jones shared a tribute after the news broke of his death, where she shared that she was able to watch the NBA star’s ‘talent’ from her window.“We met the day he moved in through his dog, that started to, and continued to wander in to my garden,” she wrote online. “His basketball court was my view. I watched his talent and dedication, yet how could I have known that he was to become what he became.”Kobe Bryant and Gianna sadly died in a helicopter crash (Photo by Allen Berezovsky/Getty Images)While Douglas has shared his love for his wife in his tell-all, he also reveals more information about other women he has been involved with, including the way he chose to spend his time after his divorce from his first wife, Diandra Douglas, whom he split from in 1995.He wrote that he had been seeing five other women, and none of them wanted anything serious with him."I made sure they all lived in different cities, which felt like a respectful way to be non-monogamous,' he wrote, adding: "None of them asked for a commitment or even asked what else I was up to. I am sure they were seeing other people, too.”His answer to Zeta-Jones was apparently to wait a little bit because he had 'five quick calls' to make.He claimed she replied to him: "Five? You have to make five calls?"Douglas wrote that he made those calls that day and the rest is history."That day, I called each one to say I met somebody and would no longer be able to continue seeing them. They all took it well," he added.Featured Image Credit: Tristan Fewings/Getty Images for The Red Sea International Film FestivalTopics: Kobe Bryant, Celebrity

Rachel Hunter Was 34 in ‘Stacy’s Mom’—the Age Many Millennials Are Now New

Rachel Hunter Was 34 in ‘Stacy’s Mom’—the Age Many Millennials Are Now

Published 13:55 8 Oct 2026 GMT+1Millennials, get ready for another shock to the systemMillennials have been given another shock to the system after the age of Stacy's Mom in the hit music video has been revealed. The hit song and music video by Fountains of Wayne, which has not exactly aged brilliantly, sees a teenage boy arranging to visit a female friend from school, Stacey, seemingly because he wants to go out with her, but actually so he can gawp at her mum as he fantasises about her.Fountains of Wayne guitarist Adam Schlesinger spoke about the inspiration behind the song, saying: "It's sort of about that period when you're first hitting puberty and suddenly everybody of the opposite sex is strangely attractive."It's a combination of sexual awakening and limited contact with a large number of people. It's the kids at school and whoever else happens to be in your life."AdvertWell, brace yourselves millennials, because the actor who played the title role in the music video for Stacey's Mom is Rachel Hunter, a model and actor from New Zealand. At the time the video was filmed, Hunter was 34 years old, and many millennials were left having a moment of crisis upon discovering the news in a broadcast by thehitsdrive, which was shared to Instagram.Hunter in 2020 (David Crotty/Patrick McMullan via Getty Images)"As someone is was born in 92 and is turn 34 in two weeks, this kinda hurts ngl," wrote one in the comments.Another replied: "As someone who was born in 1992, I didn’t need this attack today."Someone else wrote simply: "Nope. Hate this."Since her appearance in the music video, Hunter has appeared as a judge on New Zealand's Got Talent and RuPaul's Drag Race, as well as appearing on Dancing With The Stars. It's perhaps understandable that millennials particularly might have such a visceral reaction to this, as there may be more to this than just feeling like we're getting old, even though let's be real - being in your 30s isn't old. This is because the constant stream of once in a generation catastrophes that millennials have experienced in what feels like practically an annual occurrence has resulted in us not hitting milestones in life in the same way previous generations did.Rachel Hunter in 2024 (Isa Foltin/BWM via Getty Images)For example, more millennials are opting to not have children. While some make that decision because they simply don't want children, though even that is influenced by this, for others they might want them but just don't think it's viable when they can barely support themselves despite working a well paid job.Another thing is that as the world degenerates into a seemingly endless cycle of traumatic and experiences and events, for millennials nostalgia becomes a crutch. Instead of being married and having kids by 30, both of which are expensive, we take comfort in things from a time when we, and the world, felt safer. All this means we're not 'grown up' in the same sense as earlier generations, because who can afford a big wedding when bills are rising, and forget buying a house unless you inherit. As if all that wasn't enough, now we are realising that emo themed nights in 2026 are like how 70s nights would have been in the 90s, because the iconic album The Black Parade was released 20 years ago this year. Also, Macaulay Culkin from Home Alone is now 46 years old. 6 Behaviours That Look Like Emotional Maturity but Keep You Stuck New

6 Behaviours That Look Like Emotional Maturity but Keep You Stuck

1. Staying calm by shutting down every feelingRemaining composed can be useful, but emotional numbness is not the same as regulation. You may appear unbothered while quietly storing resentment, fear or grief. This often shows up when someone asks what is wrong and you automatically say “nothing.”Instead of forcing calm, name the feeling privately and notice what triggered it. You do not have to act on every emotion, but acknowledging it helps you respond deliberately rather than letting it emerge later in distance, irritability or exhaustion.2. Handling everything alone to avoid burdening othersIndependence can become a hiding place when asking for help feels unsafe or embarrassing. You might manage every crisis alone, then feel unseen because nobody noticed how much you were carrying. The problem is not capability; it is denying other people the chance to support you.Start with a specific, manageable request: “Can you listen for ten minutes?” or “Could you help me with this task?” Healthy support does not require surrendering control. It allows connection to exist alongside competence.3. Keeping the peace by never expressing disagreementAvoiding conflict may look considerate, especially if you pride yourself on being easygoing. But repeatedly hiding your preferences can create relationships built around an incomplete version of you. Agreeing to plans you resent or accepting comments that hurt does not create real harmony.Practise low-stakes honesty before frustration builds. Say, “I would prefer something different,” or “That did not sit well with me.” Respectful disagreement gives relationships useful information and reveals whether mutual understanding is genuinely possible.4. Explaining hurtful behaviour instead of setting boundariesUnderstanding why someone behaves badly can feel compassionate and emotionally intelligent. Perhaps they are stressed, insecure or repeating patterns they learned long ago. Their reasons may be real, but explanations do not erase the impact on you.You can hold empathy and limits at the same time. Rather than debating whether the person meant to hurt you, focus on what needs to change: “I understand you were overwhelmed, but I will not continue this conversation while I am being insulted.”5. Turning every painful experience into a lessonSearching for meaning can help after disappointment, but doing it too quickly may become another way to escape discomfort. Not every rejection, betrayal or loss needs an immediate silver lining. Sometimes the honest response is simply that something mattered and its ending hurts.Give yourself room to feel before extracting wisdom. Write down what happened without adding what it supposedly taught you. Perspective often arrives naturally later. Growth is more durable when it includes grief instead of using insight to rush past it.6. Forgiving quickly without rebuilding trust carefullyForgiveness is often treated as proof of emotional strength, yet it does not automatically restore safety, closeness or access. You can release the desire to punish someone while still needing evidence that their behaviour has changed. Otherwise, quick forgiveness may simply reopen the same wound.Let trust depend on consistent actions over time, not apologies alone. Decide what contact feels appropriate, communicate any conditions clearly and observe what happens. Moving forward does not require returning a relationship to its previous form.

And without knowing it, adrenaline was pushing me, was driving me.”Harry expressed that his “post-traumatic stress was not tied” to his military tour in Afghanistan, but instead that experience “appeared to be a trigger for other traumas that had stored themselves within me.”Additionally, Harry (seen here with Diana) said joining the military was the “perfect distraction” from grieving his mom’s death. 6 Psychology Traps That Keep Small Conflicts Alive New

6 Psychology Traps That Keep Small Conflicts Alive

1. You defend your intention instead of hearing the impactWhen someone says your words hurt them, explaining what you meant can feel like the fastest route to resolution. But intention and impact can both be real at once.If your first response is “That’s not what I meant,” the other person may hear that their experience is being dismissed. Try acknowledging the impact before offering context: “I can see why that landed badly.” This lowers defensiveness without forcing you to accept an unfair interpretation.2. You treat your assumptions as proven factsConflict grows quickly when guesses about another person’s motives harden into certainty. A delayed reply becomes disrespect. A distracted expression becomes indifference. Soon, you are reacting not only to what happened, but also to a story you created around it.Separate observation from interpretation. Instead of saying, “You ignored me because you don’t care,” try, “You didn’t respond, and I felt unimportant.” That wording leaves room for information you may not have.3. You bring old evidence into every new disagreementA current frustration can open the door to a whole archive of unresolved moments. Suddenly, a conversation about forgotten plans includes every past disappointment. This may feel like useful evidence, but it makes the problem too large to solve.Stay with one event unless the past reveals a specific pattern that truly needs discussion. If older pain keeps returning, give it a separate conversation. Otherwise, both people end up defending their entire history instead of addressing what happened today.4. You keep talking after your body feels overwhelmedOnce your heart is racing and your thoughts are narrowing, continuing the conversation may not produce clarity. You may repeat yourself, misread neutral words or say something harsher than you intended. A pause is not avoidance when it includes a clear return.Say what you need and name a time to reconnect: “I’m too worked up to listen well. Can we continue after dinner?” The goal is not to escape discomfort, but to return with more control and attention.5. You overlook small attempts to repair the momentNot every peace offering sounds like a formal apology. Someone may soften their voice, make gentle eye contact, admit one small mistake or ask whether you want a cup of tea. These gestures do not erase the issue, but they can signal a wish to reconnect. When anger is high, it is easy to reject them because they seem insufficient. Notice the attempt without abandoning your concern: “I appreciate that you’re trying. I still want us to finish this conversation calmly.”6. You focus on winning instead of changing the patternProving that you are right can bring brief satisfaction while leaving the relationship problem untouched. The more each person builds a case, the less attention goes toward what would prevent the same conflict next week.Shift from courtroom questions to practical ones. Ask, “What needs to happen differently?” or “What agreement would feel fair to both of us?” Resolution does not require identical opinions. It requires enough shared understanding to choose a better response the next time the tension appears.

Pentagon to Livestream First US Military Execution Since 1961

Updated 22:54 8 Oct 2026 GMT+1Published 22:37 8 Oct 2026 GMT+1Nidal Hasan killed 13 people and injured dozens more in a 2009 mass shootingThe Pentagon has said that the firing squad execution of Fort Hood killer Nidal Hasan will be livestreamed to the public.Hasan, a former US army major, killed 13 people and injured 32 more in the 2009 shooting at the Texas army base. The 56-year-old was sentenced to death by a military court in 2013 and this week, US President Donald Trump approved death by firing squad.Pentagon spokesperson Sean Parnell said in a statement on Tuesday (6 October): “Secretary of War Pete Hegseth has recommended — and President Donald J. Trump has approved — death by US Army firing squad for convicted terrorist Nidal Malik Hasan, the jihadist who opened fire on unarmed American soldiers at Fort Hood in 2009.Advert"He killed 13 people and wounded 32 others while shouting 'Allahu Akbar' during the attack."The Secretary of the Army will set the time and place of the execution. Judgement day for Hasan has finally come."During an interview with Real America’s Voice News on Wednesday (7 October) US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth said the execution will be ‘public’.Nidal Hasan will face death by firing squad for the 2009 Fort Wood mass shooting ( U.S. Government Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences via Getty Images)“We’ll make sure that people are able to watch it, that it’s public,” Hegseth said.Hegseth also said the execution of Hasan will take place at Fort Hood on 3 December. When asked if Hasan had made any final requests or reached out to the Trump administration following the news of his impending execution, Hegseth replied: “Don’t care. We’ll see him on December Third.”Pentagon officials have since confirmed that the execution will be livestreamed and have said more details will follow in due course. Hasan was behind an horrific attack on 5 November 2009, when he was working as an army psychiatrist and opened fire at the Soldier Readiness Processing Center at the Fort Hood military base in Texas. Hasan fatally shot 12 soldiers and one civilian and injured 32 others. He was then shot and severely wounded. At his trial in 2013, Hasan claimed to have ‘switched sides’ and said he had carried out the terror attack due to his anger at being deployed to Afghanistan and out of a wish to protect Islamic and Taliban leaders from US troops.Hasan was convicted of 13 counts of premeditated murder and 32 counts of attempted murder and sentenced to death. He has since been held at the US Disciplinary Barracks at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas.Thirteen people died in the horrific Fort Hood attack in 2009 (Ben Sklar/Getty Images)He is set to become the first service member to be executed by armed forces since 1961.He is one of just four inmates on death row in the US army’s justice system. The last time the military executed a service member was in 1961, when Private John Bennett was convicted of the rape and attempted murder of an 11-year-old girl in Austria and handed a death sentence. In the United States, firing squad executions are extremely rare.Last year, South Carolina carried out three executions by firing squad for Brad Sigmon, Mikal Mahdi and Stephen Bryant, which were the first such executions in the US for more than a decade.Featured Image Credit: Bell County Sheriff's Office via Getty ImagesTopics: US News, Crime, Death Row
