Joy Behar returned to “The View” Tuesday morning after a month-long hiatus due to a shoulder injury.
The 84-year-old host linked arms with Sara Haines, who helped her to her seat at the “Hot Topics” table, soundtracked by Elton John’s 1974 single, “The Bitch is Back.”
The comedian was met with roaring applause as the audience cheered for over a minute.
Tuesday’s episode marked Behar’s first day back on set since she dislocated her shoulder in late September.
Behar shared more details of her gruesome injury at the top of the show, revealing that she took a very bad fall.
“I mean, I went down hard, in this building. I dislocated my shoulder. I don’t know if that’s ever happened to anybody, but it’s worse than childbirth,” Behar explained.
“I mean, I would have given up names to the CIA; that kind of torture, it was bad,” she joked.
The actress added that she was upset she hadn’t been on-air to talk about some of their recent “hot topics,” including President Donald Trump complimenting Nicki Minaj’s backside.
“Even when I went down and went to the hospital, the doctor didn’t even look at my ass like that, with such love and affection,” Behar teased.
Her co-hosts — Haines, Whoopi Goldberg, Alyssa Farah Griffin, and Sunny Hostin — also gushed over how much they missed Behar.
“All jokes aside, it is, you know, we’re together a lot, and so when one of us is not around, you feel it,” Goldberg said.
Haines compared the cast to a family, adding that they go through the “ups” and “downs” of their lives together.
“Things happen, you can’t help it. I couldn’t help that I went down,” Behar said.
When Behar first injured her shoulder, Goldberg issued a statement on her co-star’s behalf.
“Despite sharing a birthday with Vladimir Putin, she does not have the Russian plague,” Goldberg said on the show at the time.
“She’s still healing up after dislocating her shoulder. What we’re saying is: Get better fast so we can celebrate you back here on ‘The View,'” she added.
Behar, who has been on the show since 1997, previously took two weeks off in June while enjoying a Euro-summer.
“There’s been a lot of media attention on me lately because I’m taking off the next two weeks,” Behar said on the May 29 episode. “They’re calling it a hiatus. It’s not a hiatus.”
“I’m working,” she explained. “I have a planned trip overseas next week to work on my play, ‘My First Ex-Husband,’ in London.”
The show previously debuted Off-Broadway in New York in February 2025 and had a run in London over the summer.
Behar’s return comes as “The View” celebrated its 30th season in September.
