Campaigning for lefty candidates all over the country sure does work up an appetite.
Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez jumped off the trail to visit an In-N-Out burger after holding an event in Bakersfield, Calif., as part of a nationwide tour to try to flip the US House.
She popped into the famed West Coast eatery in Delano on Friday and emerged with a smile while gripping a red, white and yellow bag of grub with its iconic logo facing outward.
AOC stood in line inside the franchise with her arms crossed, then gave a quick wave to photographers waiting outside while she was being guarded by a security detail.
She satisfied her burger craving after stumping for about 15 minutes for lefty Democrat Randy Villegas, who is campaigning to unseat Rep. David Valadao (R-Ca.) in a heavily Hispanic district that Democrats redrew to their advantage after Republicans did the same in Texas and other states.
Valadao has taken steps to distance himself from President Trump in territory that Trump carried by just 2% against Vice President Kamala Harris in 2024.
The California incumbent voted to impeach the president in 2021, but backed his Big Beautiful Bill in 2025.
AOC will need sustenance for the road ahead, with plans to campaign in Las Vegas later Saturday, where she holds a Get out the Early Vote Rally along with Rep. Steven Horsford (D-Nev.).
“The same forces rigging the economy against working people are betting we stay home this November. But the people who make Nevada work will never fold — we’re going all in!” Horsford’s campaign wrote.
AOC was recently all-in on another bit of regional fare on her recent trip to Michigan, where she made her first visit to a Culver’s alongside left wing Senate candidate Abdul El-Sayed.
She ordered a ButterBurger and cheese curds at that fast casual restaurant, gushing afterward that, “My life has changed!”
She wasn’t so keen on In-N-Out back in 2022, during another hard-fought midterm cycle.
Back then, Pod Save America podcaster Jon Lovett asked a blunt question about her take on “the quality of the fries.”
“Thank you for saying this because every time I come out here, everyone’s like: ‘Oh my god, In-N-Out, In-N-Out.’ And I’m like, my controversial, nonpolitical opinion is that it’s overrated,” she said.
She added that her beef wasn’t with the burger, saying the joint has “dry fries.”
