Gypsy Rose Blanchard Accuses Ken Urker’s Sister of Cashing In on His Death
Gypsy Rose Blanchard lashed out at Ken Urker’s sister Autumn Urker two weeks after his death.
“I’m tired of being quiet,” Gypsy said in an Oct. 13 Instagram video. “I’m going through the stages of grief, and right now, I’m going through anger. So, this might be a video I might regret later.”
Gypsy addressed growing tensions between her and Autumn which she alleged had been occurring for months before Ken was found dead in his Louisiana home Oct. 1.
“It’s disturbing how tabloids and media outlets picked up on her BS just because they were related,” Gypsy, who shares daughter Aurora with Ken, said in the footage. “Instead of focusing on the fact that a child lost her father, I lost a partner, a mother lost her son.”
“It’s disgusting to see a family member take this as an opportunity to cash in because she didn't make some money to get to Louisiana,” she continued. “And she was never here. She was never here. I spent the entire time with Ken’s family.”
And the 35-year-old cherished those times.
“The most important thing that I want to say is that I really loved him and he was a really good person,” Gypsy said of Ken in her video. “Secondly, I want to make a point that just because someone is a relative of someone, does not mean that they are privy to any part of that individual’s life—Autumn wasn't close with Ken and Ken wasn't close with Autumn.”
She concluded with, “I tried multiple times to make peace with her and it was not working out.”
Autumn told the Daily Mail that Ken had suffered in the spotlight due to his relationship with Gypsy.
“He had to sleep with a gun every night,” she told the outlet in an interview published Oct. 8. In text messages reviewed by the Daily Mail, Ken allegedly said the gun was for protection after receiving death threats over his relationship.
Autumn also claimed her brother was “humiliated” over recently-leaked prison calls between Gypsy and Ken during her seven-year sentence for the 2015 murder of her mother, Dee-Dee Blanchard.
In one 2025 call, Gypsy who was then out of prison, spoke to an incarcerated friend, detailing her violent outburst after allegedly learning that Ken had written a note to an ex-girlfriend.
“I go grab a knife in the kitchen, and I go to that headboard, and I stab the motherf—king headboard,” Gypsy said in the call, “and I carve ‘wh—e’ in the headboard.”
Ken was found “dead upon arrival” in his Raceland, La., home on Oct. 1, a spokesperson for the Lafourche Sheriff’s Office confirmed to Oxygen.
Ken was lying in his bed, “cold to the touch, while his “face and his arms were blue,” according to an incident report.
Ken was also surrounded by drug paraphernalia, the report noted, along with a gun and “a brown powdery substance.”
“The handgun on the night stand was holstered laying next to two shot glasses and a syringe,” the report read. “Nothing else inside of the bedroom appeared to be disturbed or moved.”
Though the case is pending as a toxicology report is completed, Gypsy said that he died of a drug overdose.
“I don’t know if it was intentional or not,” she told People. “He was not in a good state of mind lately.”
She also spoke out about the public scrutiny he faced.
"The cruelty directed toward him was something no human being should have to endure,” she shared. “I believe the tremendous weight of that scrutiny and harassment had a profound impact on him, and I hope his passing serves as a reminder that there is a real person behind every screen, every headline, and every comment.”
