Ree Drummond's Foster Son Sparks Attention After Arrest for Assault and Drugs

“The Pioneer Woman” Ree Drummond’s foster son, Jamar Goff, was arrested for allegedly assaulting a police officer, as well as drug possession.

The 23-year-old was picked up by officers while at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, and booked at Jefferson County Jail on Sept. 15, according to records obtained by Page Six.

He was also charged with attempting to elude a police officer and drug paraphernalia possession.

Goff’s bond was set at $37,000.

Court documents obtained by TMZ revealed that officers responded to a call about a suspicious person on campus at the university.

When they arrived, they found Goff asleep without a shirt on near a fountain.

Goff allegedly told officers he was waiting for someone to sell him “ice,” which is code for methamphetamine, per the outlet.

Initially, Goff wasn’t detained and was told by officers to leave the premises. However, officers later noticed Goff had an existing warrant for his arrest and tracked him down.

According to the docs, Goff ran from police but was eventually detained and transported to a local hospital, where he allegedly struck an officer.

Additionally, officers allegedly discovered a glass pipe and 1.8 grams of meth on Jamar, including in his backpack.

According to TMZ, Goff is now homeless. Drummond and her husband, Ladd, took him in as a teenager in 2018.

Drummond has yet to address the allegations against her son.

One of Drummond’s last Instagram tributes to Goff was for his 21st birthday in 2023, writing, “With Jamar, there’s a whole universe going on in that mind and heart and soul of his. It’s a beautiful thing to behold.”

“I can’t wait to watch his future unfold. I know it will be filled with good things. I love you, Jamar!!” she concluded.

The TV personality also talked about becoming a foster parent in her book “Frontier Follies,” admitting that “fostering a kid was never something [she or her husband] pursued or felt called to do, but Jamar’s circumstances presented themselves to [them] in a way we couldn’t ignore.”

Drummond recalled how her family bonded with Goff after he injured his foot in an ATV accident, saying it “forced” them to “get pretty darn close” in between doctor’s appointments and mobility assistance.

Drummond and Ladd are also the parents of Alex, Paige, Bryce and Todd.
