Demi's Journey: From Partying to a New Life After Nose Collapse

Demi opened up about her story, and had surgery to repair the damage which had been done by drug abuse
A woman shared how she had surgery for a new nose after her nose collapsed due to drug abuse.
Demi, short for Demitra, appeared on the show Botched, where people who have previously had unsuccessful plastic surgery get a consultation and can have the surgery redone.
She revealed in the show on YouTube that after splitting up with a boyfriend she would go out 'partying' a lot, which involved taking cocaine regularly, though she said 'not every day', over a period of 10 years, and it 'became a habit' when she went out.
Unfortunately, this took a big toll on Demi's body, eventually leading to her nose collapsing.

"In my thirties I split up with my partner so I was going out a lot more, partying 24/7, doing cocaine, half a gram a night, maybe a gram sometimes, obviously way too much," she told the show.
Demi went on to recount how she hadn't seen what was happening to her, saying: "I was too busy having more lines, doing more drugs, getting more drunk, partying all the time that I didn't even notice what was going on with my nose."

Demi explained that she had previously stopped taking cocaine for around a year after she had an initial operation to repair the damage that had been caused to her nose.
Unfortunately, this operation had not been successful, and Demi was left with a collapsed nose, affecting her self-esteem, happiness, and making it difficult to breathe and to sleep.
"When I was growing up my nose just looked normal, but over the years my nose started to fall apart," she said.
"In 2010 I decided I needed to have my nose fixed so I had surgery, but it didn't work and then three weeks after my surgery my nose was collapsing."
Demi also shared how her nose collapsing has affected her life and health, saying: "I feel I look horrific, my nose looks concave, crinkly, I look like a character from Avatar. I feel ugly, and it makes me feel so unhappy."
And the impact doesn't stop at that either, as Demi explained: "I have difficulty breathing when I'm sleeping, I breathe through my mouth, it wakes me up throughout the whole night, so I'm not even sleeping properly because of my nose."

She also revealed that it has had an impact on her love life as well, and she has not had a relationship for several years.
"The last time I actually went on a date or had a boyfriend was about seven years ago," she said.
Now, Demi said that she has changed her lifestyle, drinking less alcohol, as well as giving up smoking and giving up cocaine.
"I've stopped smoking, I don't drink so much now, and I've stopped cocaine," she said. "Now is the time to wake up and start living."
Explaining why she gave up, she said: "I just had enough of it. People were saying, oh, Demi's great, Demi's the life and soul of the party, and I am."
After appearing on the show, Demi was able to have a successful procedure, and was delighted with the result, saying: "Before surgery with Dr Nassif, my nose looked disgusting, the definition from the side angle was just flat, you couldn't see nostrils or anything, but now my nose is amazing!"
