Lady Gaga's Surrogate Journey: The Emotional Path to Welcoming Daughter Rose Bean

Lady Gaga’s baby girl was born this way — via surrogate.

The pop star and her husband welcomed daughter Rose Bean with the help of a gestational carrier, TMZ reported Thursday.

Additional details on the singer’s surrogacy journey are not yet known, and Gaga’s rep did not respond to Page Six’s request for comment.

The outlet revealed the “Bad Romance” hitmaker’s infant’s name and sex on Thursday, nearly a week after Page Six broke Gaga’s baby news.

The little one arrived on June 9 at 11:19 p.m. PT in Los Angeles.

A source told us Monday that Gaga’s journey to become a mom, which we hear started in 2024, has had “ups and downs” due to a “hard road” of health struggles.

The insider said, “There have been moments of giddiness and moments of despair. It has been so sad. It’s a real tale of hard times, both physical and emotional, en route to this happy ending.

“She’s had severe hip issues and a heap of other physical ailments, alongside everything she puts her body through when performing.”

The Grammy winner has been vocal over the years about navigating a “huge [hip] breakage” that required surgery and living with fibromyalgia, a chronic condition that causes severe, widespread physical pain and fatigue.

“When I feel the adrenaline of my music and my fans, I can f—king go. But it doesn’t mean I’m not in pain,” she confessed in the 2017 “Gaga: Five Foot Two” Netflix documentary.

However, the couple and their reps have yet to comment at all on the baby news. 

Her love story with Polansky, 42, began in late 2019.

The pair went public with their romance in 2020 and got engaged four years later.

In October 2025, Gaga hinted at their family plans when she told Stephen Colbert, “What I really want is to be a mom. That’s my next starring role, I hope.”

She dubbed herself “a family girl” who wants “marriage and kids more than anything” on “Good Morning America” earlier that same year — and told the New York Times she’d let go of her “apprehension” about having children and was “excited about” it.

The performer has yet to speak out about her new arrival.
