The Discovery Channel's series "Deadliest Catch" plans a special tribute in honor of crew member Todd Meadows, who died while filming. The upcoming Season 22 will premiere on May 8 and highlight his impact on the cast and fishing community.

Tribute to Todd Meadows

Throughout the new season, the show will feature highlights of Todd Meadows' contributions without displaying footage of his death out of respect for his family. This decision came after concerns were raised by his family and friends.

Details of the Incident

Todd Meadows tragically passed away on February 25 after falling overboard during filming on the Bering Sea. He was reportedly inside a crab pot that went overboard, and he ended up in freezing waters.

His body became lifeless within minutes, and a rescue swimmer took ten minutes to recover him. Captain Rick Shelford described it as the most tragic day in their vessel's history.

Reactions and Legal Actions

Meadows was well-respected for his passion and work ethic, quickly becoming part of the crew's family. His mother requested that only positive aspects be aired about him. The family is preparing to file a wrongful death lawsuit, although specifics are not yet clear.

Todd Meadows is survived by his sons.
