Jill Duggar Reveals Why Her Family Is Leaving Arkansas
Jill Duggar and her husband, Derick Dillard, are set to leave Arkansas as Dillard joins the Marine Corps. He is scheduled for Marine Corps Officer Candidate School in Virginia.
Derick's New Military Path
Derick Dillard has long aspired to become a military JAG officer. While he received a recruiting letter last year, the timing was not ideal for their family. This year, however, circumstances aligned for his application process.
After beginning the recruitment process in March, everything progressed quickly, leading them to believe it was meant to be.
Past Professional Experience
Before this opportunity, Dillard worked as an Assistant District Attorney in Oklahoma from 2022 to 2025 and started his own law practice in Arkansas.
The couple previously lived briefly in Central America on a volunteer mission and settled back in Arkansas in 2017.
Family's Next Steps
Duggar and their children plan to follow him once he completes 10 weeks of initial training. They will relocate first to Virginia and later to Rhode Island.
The family expressed gratitude for prayer support during this new chapter. They also voiced strong condemnation of recent legal troubles involving Jill’s brother Joseph Duggar.
