Rashee Rice Cleared by NFL Amid $1M Abuse Lawsuit Allegations
The National Football League has determined that Kansas City Chiefs receiver Rashee Rice will not face discipline after abuse allegations from his ex-girlfriend, Dacoda Jones.
Investigation Concludes
The NFL closed its investigation, stating Rice did not engage in conduct violating the personal conduct policy. The allegations were brought forward by Jones, who is the mother of Rice's children.
Allegations and Legal Action
In January, Jones posted on Instagram alleging years of abuse without naming Rice directly. Her claims included physical harm and intimidation. By February, she filed a civil lawsuit in Dallas County seeking over $1 million for these alleged behaviors from December 2023 to July 2025.
Rice's Response
Rice has not faced criminal charges. His attorney, Sean Lindsey, referred to an affidavit from Jones indicating no physical violence occurred, describing the incident as a verbal dispute.
After the NFL's decision, Lindsey expressed gratitude on behalf of Rice, who is eager for the upcoming NFL season. The Kansas City Chiefs acknowledged the situation but offered no further comments.
