Judge Judy Shocks TV Producer with Bold Dating Advice
Judge Judy's Unexpected Advice
Fran Weinstein, a former producer for "Entertainment Tonight," was surprised by Judge Judy's unconventional advice during an interview. Instead of matching her with a man, the judge handed Weinstein a gun.
During a walk at Judge Judy's home in Connecticut, Weinstein asked if Judy knew anyone she could set her up with. Instead, Judge Judy revealed a .32 caliber pistol as something she recommended Weinstein to have.
Judge Judy later commented that she didn't recall this event but expressed amusement at the idea and found it brilliant.
Memoir Revelations
Weinstein's story about Judge Judy is featured in her upcoming memoir, "Tortured Soles: High Heels, Low Expectations and the Hollywood Gossip Mill," releasing on April 28. The book contains various stories from her entertainment journalism career.
The memoir also includes anecdotes like Anne Heche allegedly taking her tape and Kelly Ripa ceasing communication with her, as well as insights into interviews with stars like Robin Williams and George Clooney.
Memorable Interviews
While highlighting favorite interviews such as Jamie Lee Curtis being praised highly, Weinstein shared her least favorite experience with Harvey Keitel who abruptly ended their session by removing his microphone and leaving.
Weinstein also recounted moments like nearly being fired for entering the Culkin family's apartment after a tragic fire and being trapped by actor Jan-Michael Vincent during an assignment.
She retired in 2013, moving to St. Croix and Upstate New York. Reflecting on her career filled with challenges, she now enjoys wearing flip flops instead of designer heels.
