Ice Dancer at Olympics Unfazed by Boyfriend's Sexual Assault Case

Share Post

Olympic ice dancer Laurence Fournier Beaudry addressed recent comments from the alleged victim accusing her boyfriend and former partner, Nikolaj Sørensen, of sexual assault. Fournier Beaudry stated they are focused on the Olympics and have said what they needed to on the matter.

The alleged victim criticized Fournier Beaudry and the French ice dancing team for their handling of the allegations against Sørensen, stating that their comments could discourage skaters from reporting abuse.

In response to the statement, Fournier Beaudry mentioned that she and the team have no thoughts on the matter. Fournier Beaudry and Sørensen have been dating for 12 years and started skating together in 2013, representing Canada at the 2022 Winter Olympics.

Sørensen was accused of sexual assault in 2024, which he denied. He was later suspended for six years for sexual maltreatment by the Office of the Sport Integrity Commissioner in Canada.

Fournier Beaudry, who gained French citizenship in 2025, is now competing with Team France at the 2026 Winter Olympics alongside partner Guillaume Cizeron after her former partner's ban from the sport.
