Gregory Zecca, stepson of Dog the Bounty Hunter (real name: Duane Chapman), has been arrested for the fatal shooting of his 13-year-old son, Anthony.

Zecca, 39, faces charges of aggravated manslaughter of a child with a firearm and using a firearm while under the influence in connection with his son’s death. If convicted, he could face life imprisonment.

On the day of Anthony’s death, July 19, Zecca had been drinking and using marijuana before watching a UFC fight and handling a gun in his son’s presence at a home in Naples, Florida, as per a Facebook post by the Collier County Sheriff’s Office.

Authorities revealed that although the gun was initially unloaded, it was later loaded, a round was chambered, and the weapon discharged, leading to the tragic incident.

Investigation and Family Statements

Collier County Sheriff Kevin Rambosk described the incident as a “heartbreaking and preventable tragedy” and commended his detectives for their thorough investigation into the case.

Zecca, who is the son of Dog's wife, Francie Frane, was reported to have regularly handled a firearm in the child’s presence prior to the unfortunate event, as stated in a warrant obtained by TMZ.

Following Anthony’s death, a family representative expressed that Zecca was deeply affected by the tragedy, raising concerns about his mental state. The family requested prayers as they mourned the loss of their grandson.
