Donald Trump recently commented on the deaths of Renee Good and Alex Pretti, who were killed by ICE agents, acknowledging the incidents as unfortunate but also stating that the individuals were "no angels."

Background on Deaths

Alex Pretti, a 37-year-old ICU nurse, died after a confrontation with an ICE agent on January 24. Renee Macklin Good was fatally shot by an ICE operative on January 7 in Minneapolis. These deaths led to Bruce Springsteen composing an anti-ICE song.

Trump's administration had previously justified Good's death by linking her to "domestic terrorism" and explained Pretti's death by stating he had brandished a gun.

Trump's Response

While Trump did express regret over the deaths, he maintained support for law enforcement, stating, "I’m always going to be with our great people of law enforcement." He acknowledged shortcomings in public relations and suggested a need for a "softer touch" in immigration policies.

Trump admitted that his administration could improve in dealing with the public, recognizing the need for a more nuanced approach. He reiterated his support for law enforcement, emphasizing the importance of backing them for the country's security.
