Republican Criticizes Donald Trump's Post About the Obamas as the 'Most Racist Thing to Come From This White House'
Donald Trump's recent social media post depicting Barack and Michelle Obama as apes has sparked outrage among members of his own party.
Republican Senator Tim Scott from South Carolina, who is Black, condemned the post as racist and called for its removal, stating it's the most racist thing he's seen from the White House.
Tim Scott urged President Trump to take down the post, expressing that it was not humorous as some might have perceived it to be.
Despite criticisms, the White House confirmed that Trump made the post but defended it as an internet meme video portraying the President as the king of the jungle and Democrats as characters from The Lion King.
Other Republicans, including New York Representative Mike Lawler, also denounced the post as wrong and offensive, demanding its removal.
This incident is not the first time Trump has courted controversy online. Previously, he faced backlash for a Truth Social rant targeting Rob Reiner, accusing the late director of having "Trump derangement syndrome."
The NAACP condemned Trump's latest post, highlighting it as a reflection of his and his followers' views and vowing to remember it come November. This incident occurred during Black History Month in the United States.
